NEW PUBLICATION ALERT

CFCST congratulates Dr. Onofre S. Corpuz, Onofre Jaame S. Corpuz, and Fatimah C. Dilangalen on the publication of their study, โ€œRoot Growth Potential of Antipolo (Artocarpus blancoi) in a Clay Soil of Arakan Cotabato Philippines,โ€ in the Indian Journal of Agricultural Research.

Conducted at the Forestry Departmentโ€™s ecological garden in CFCST, Doroluman, Arakan, Cotabato, the study examined the relationship between root development and the growth characteristics of one-year-old Antipolo trees. The findings revealed that primary root diameter was strongly associated with leaf number, stem height, stem diameter, and basal area, highlighting the importance of considering root development when assessing young trees.

This research adds locally grounded evidence to our understanding of Antipolo growth in clay soils and may help inform future studies on seedling assessment and native-tree establishment.

CFCST congratulates Dr. Farida D. Silverio, together with Oldล™ich Hovorka and Jiล™รญ Hรกjek, on the publication of their study, โ€œThe ground beetle genus Dinopelma Bates from Mindanao, with description of a new species, and a new synonymy,โ€ in Zootaxa.

The study describes Dinopelma pandanicola, a species new to science documented from two localities in Mindanao. It also clarifies that two previously named species represent immature and mature forms of the same species, establishing D. marginatum as a synonym of D. lineola. In addition, the researchers identify leaf axils the spaces where leaves meet the stem of plants in the pandan family as a preferred habitat of hexagoniine ground beetles in Mindanao.

Published on July 6, 2026, in Zootaxa, Volume 5845, Issue 2, pages 387โ€“396, this research contributes to the documentation of Mindanaoโ€™s biodiversity and provides a foundation for further studies on its lesser-known insects.
