Regional Director Judea P. Asuncion led a courtesy visit to the SOCCSKSARGEN Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (DATRC) in Brgy. Kawas, Alabel, Sarangani Province on January 19, 2026. The visit was joined by CPPO Bernabe A. Chan, CPPO Ronald L. Bautista, SPPO/OIC Ma. Hannah A. Claudio, PPO II Romielyn T. Salazar, AO IV Jessica D. Espinilla and PPO I Jacklyn K. Dawang, underscoring continued collaboration in support of rehabilitation and community-based programs.
The visit was undertaken to strengthen the partnership between the two government institutions, united by their shared mission of rehabilitating and reintegrating drug offenders under the care of DOJโPPA Region XII and DATRC. During the meeting, both parties discussed areas where their clientsโ rehabilitation journeys intersect, particularly in the transition from facility-based treatment to community-based supervision. Emphasis was placed on ensuring continuity of care and sustained support for clients as they progress through different phases of their recovery.
In addition, the discussion explored potential areas for collaboration, including program complementation, coordinated case management, and other joint initiatives that would enhance the effectiveness of rehabilitation services. These partnerships aim to provide a more holistic and seamless approach to recovery, ultimately improving client outcomes and promoting successful reintegration into society.
Dr. Imelda K. Quiรฑones, MD, MAHA, FPMSG, Chief of Hospital of DATRC, gave a brief but comprehensive overview of the center, highlighting its programs, facilities, and range of services. She also personally led the tour of the facility for Regional Director Asuncion and the DOJโPPA Region XII delegation, allowing them to gain firsthand insight into DATRCโs operations and treatment modalities.
The meeting concluded with a positive outlook, marked by meaningful exchanges and a strong commitment to future cooperation. Both agencies expressed their readiness to further strengthen their partnership in pursuit of their common goal: the effective rehabilitation, reformation, and reintegration of clients, as well as the promotion of safer and healthier communities.
