EPAHP 12 Strengthens CBO Linkages for SFP Supply in South Cotabato

The Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP), in coordination with the Province of South Cotabato, conducted a consultation to advance the engagement of Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) as potential suppliers for the Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP).

The meeting, led by Sonia L. Bautista, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer (PSWDO), gathered stakeholders to strengthen local supply systems and expand livelihood opportunities for community-based producers.

CBOs were oriented on their possible participation in the SFP, with no formal commitments at this stage. The Province highlighted strong potential in locally produced goods, particularly Lawa and Binhi products, which may be procured through cooperatives (COOPs). Additional sourcing from Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP)-organized groups was also identified.

Stakeholders emphasized maximizing South Cotabato’s local production capacity to support both nutrition and economic goals. A follow-up meeting with the Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) is expected to discuss procurement requirements and processes.

EPAHP continues to promote inclusive partnerships that link community enterprises to government programs, contributing to food security and sustainable livelihoods.
