LOOK: The Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) Field Office XII extended its support and assistance during the third consultation meeting of Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) with the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) on matters concerning Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP) deliveries.

The meeting discussed issues and concerns regarding previous food commodity deliveries, contract balances and payments processed, and preparations for the upcoming SFP pre-procurement. Other related matters were also discussed to help address concerns and strengthen coordination among stakeholders.

Through continued collaboration, EPAHP XII supports CBOs in addressing operational challenges and sustaining their participation in government programs that promote community development and improve access to nutritious food.

LOOK: The Pag-abot Program, facilitated the provision of Transitory Shelter Assistance (TSA) to one (1) newly reintegrated Individual in Street Situation (ISS) in Barangay Labangal, General Santos City, on October 9, 2026.

The assistance aims to address the beneficiary’s immediate shelter needs and support a safe and stable transition to community living. During the visit, Pag-abot staff also coordinated with BLGU Labangal representatives and police personnel to assist in documenting an incident involving a program beneficiary through the barangay and police blotters.

Through coordinated assistance and continued case management, the Pag-abot Program supports the welfare and reintegration of individuals and families in street situations.

LOOK: The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XII, through the Pag-abot Program, facilitated the reintegration of three (3) Families in Street Situations (FISS) and the provision of financial assistance in Barangay Bawing, General Santos City, on October 9, 2026.

As part of the activity, Pag-abot staff conducted a courtesy call with BLGU Bawing and held a case conference with the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) General Santos City, BLGU Bawing representatives, and the Purok Chairman of Badjao Village to discuss the families’ circumstances and support needs.

The activity also included the formation of a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) involving BLGU Bawing, CSWDO General Santos City, and the Purok Chairman of Badjao Village to strengthen coordination, monitoring, and follow-up support for the reintegrated families. The financial assistance aims to help address the families’ immediate needs as they reestablish their lives in the community.

Through continued collaboration with local partners, the Pag-abot Program supports individuals and families in street situations toward a safer and more stable life.

LOOK: The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XII, through the Pag-Abot Program, continues to extend support to Families in Street Situations (FISS) by providing essential assistance to help them rebuild their lives and achieve a more stable future.

A FISS beneficiary from Tboli, South Cotabato, received Livelihood Assistance and Transitory Shelter Assistance to support income-generating opportunities and provide temporary shelter. Meanwhile, a FISS beneficiary from Surallah, South Cotabato, received Financial Assistance and Transitory Shelter Assistance to help address immediate needs and support the transition toward safer and more stable living conditions.

Through these interventions, the DSWD Pag-abot Program XII reaffirms its commitment to reaching vulnerable families, promoting self-sufficiency, and providing opportunities for a dignified life.

Pag-abot Program 12 facilitates reintegration and case conferences for Sama-Badjao beneficiaries in Sulu

The DSWD Field Office XII, through the Pag-abot Program, facilitated reintegration activities and case conference sessions for five (5) Families in Street Situation (FISS) and two (2) Individuals in Street Situation (ISS) Sama-Badjao beneficiaries in the Province of Sulu, strengthening coordination with local government units to support their safe and sustainable return to their respective communities.

The activity included the conduct of case conference sessions with the beneficiaries and coordination with the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) to discuss their reintegration needs, available interventions, and appropriate support mechanisms. The activity aimed to ensure that the concerns and immediate needs of the beneficiaries were properly assessed and addressed as part of the reintegration process.

Courtesy calls and case conferences were also conducted with the Barangay Captains of Poblacion, Maimbung; Buansa, Indanan; and Kanaway, Parang. These engagements strengthened coordination with the respective barangays and facilitated the identification of appropriate community-based support and services for the returning beneficiaries.

The reintegration and case conference activities reflect the Pag-abot Program’s continuing commitment to providing responsive, coordinated, and needs-based interventions to individuals and families in street situations, helping them transition toward stable community living, self-reliance, and sustainable reintegration.

LOOK: The DSWD Field Office XII, through the Pag-abot Program, facilitated the reintegration activities of seven (7) Sama-Badjao beneficiaries upon their arrival at Sulu Port, supporting their safe return and transition to their respective communities in the Province of Sulu.

The activity involved five (5) Families in Street Situation (FISS) and two (2) Individuals in Street Situation (ISS) beneficiaries who were assisted by the Pag-abot Program in coordination with concerned partners. The reintegration activity covered beneficiaries bound for the municipalities of Maimbung, Indanan, and Parang, Sulu.

The facilitation of the reintegration activities at Sulu Port forms part of the Pag-abot Program’s continuing efforts to provide coordinated and responsive interventions to individuals and families in street situations, ensuring that beneficiaries are supported throughout their return and reintegration process toward safer, more stable, and sustainable community living.

A magnitude 4.5 earthquake struck 25 kilometers South 32° West of Glan, Sarangani at 4:35 PM on October 8, 2026.

📍 Depth of Focus: 15 km

The earthquake is an aftershock of the June 2026 Mw7.8 Offshore Sarangani and Mw6.5 Offshore Davao Occidental earthquakes.

Residents are advised to remain calm but vigilant. Stay alert for possible aftershocks and continue observing earthquake safety measures. Avoid damaged structures, steep slopes, and other areas that may pose hazards.

LOOK: The DSWD Field Office XII Tara, Basa! Program conducted a Balik-Tanaw activity for its RPMO Technical Staff, providing an avenue for the team to reflect on their contributions, challenges, and commitments throughout the program implementation.

The activity also featured the presentation of Tara, Basa! Balik-Tanaw results per province by the Provincial Team Leaders, highlighting key experiences, accomplishments, and insights gathered from the field.

In the afternoon, the technical staff participated in the Localized Program Implementation Review (LPIR), focusing on the implementation of the Tara, Basa! Program at the local level.

Through Balik-Tanaw, the team looks back on what has been accomplished, learns from the challenges encountered, and moves forward with renewed commitments toward a stronger implementation of Tara, Basa!.

LOOK: The DSWD Field Office XII through the Pag-abot Program, conducted a two-day back-to-back provision of assistance to Pag-abot beneficiaries in Cotabato City and Parang, Maguindanao del Norte, further strengthening the program’s commitment to supporting individuals and families in vulnerable situations as they work toward sustainable reintegration and improved self-sufficiency.

On the first day, a Pag-abot Individual in Street Situation (ISS) in Cotabato City received Livelihood Assistance to support the resumption and development of a sustainable livelihood project. Another Family in Street Situation (FISS) also received Financial Assistance while the provision of other appropriate interventions and services remains underway.

The assistance provision continued in Parang, Maguindanao del Norte, where another Pag-abot beneficiary received Livelihood Assistance intended to strengthen their source of income and support their continued reintegration within the community.

These back-to-back assistance provisions reflect the Pag-abot Program’s continuing efforts to provide responsive, needs-based, and coordinated interventions to beneficiaries, helping them move forward toward greater stability, self-reliance, and a more secure future.

DSWD XII supports newly reintegrated family in General Santos City through livelihood and shelter assistance

General Santos City — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office XII, through the Pag-abot Program, provided Livelihood Assistance and Transitory Shelter Assistance (TSA) to a newly reintegrated family in Barangay Upper Labay, General Santos City on October 7, 2026.

The assistance forms part of the program’s continuing support to individuals and families transitioning from street situations toward a more stable and sustainable life within the community.

The beneficiary, a father who previously experienced street life, was reintegrated into the community through the Pag-abot Program. His livelihood assistance will be used to establish an agrivet enterprise offering livestock feeds and supplies, a business suited to the needs of residents in Upper Labay who engage in livestock raising.

Through the livelihood support, the family is expected to gain a sustainable source of income while responding to the needs of their local community. Meanwhile, the Transitory Shelter Assistance will help address the family’s immediate shelter needs as they continue their reintegration journey.

The provision of assistance was carried out in coordination with the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) of General Santos City and the Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) of Upper Labay, with the participation of the beneficiary and Pag-abot Program staff.

The DSWD, through Pag-abot, continues to strengthen interventions that help families rebuild their lives, regain stability, and become more self-sufficient within their communities.
