𝐃𝐈𝐃 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐊𝐍𝐎𝐖 ⁉️

Most of this labor happens not in factories, but in fields, farms, and places we rarely see—hidden from view, yet far from safe.

According to the data, agriculture remains the largest sector for child labour, accounting for 61 per cent of all cases, followed by services (27 per cent), like domestic work and selling goods in markets, and industry (13 per cent), including mining and manufacturing.

The Department of Labor and Employment XII (DOLE XII) continues to advance the Child Labor Prevention and Elimination Program (CLPEP) in support of the Philippine Program Against Child Labor (PPACL). Through a strategic and holistic approach, we aim to uplift the lives of child laborers, their families, and communities—promoting protection, healing, reintegration, and empowerment.

Held on April 20–21, 2026 in General Santos City, the capacity-building and assessment activity brought together DOLE XII employees—including Top Management, Division and Field Office Heads, CLPEP Focal Persons, and CLPEP Community Facilitators—to further enhance program implementation and ensure that no child is left behind.

The activity also served as a refresher on child labor modules, strengthening participants’ knowledge and improving the effectiveness of service delivery in the field.

Community Facilitators were given the opportunity to air out their concerns, share field experiences, and engage in team-building activities—fostering collaboration and reinforcing their role in achieving a child labor-free Philippines.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐗𝐈𝐈 – 𝐒𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐧 𝐊𝐮𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭 𝐅𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 successfully conducted an Information and Service Caravan last March 31, 2026, at the Municipal Gymnasium of Columbio, Sultan Kudarat, benefiting 35 child laborers and 35 parents.

The activity provided valuable learning through the distribution of IEC materials and informative sessions, including audio-visual presentations on ILO Convention No. 190, RA 9231, DOLEkula, and inspiring success stories. Orientations on RA 11930 (OSAEC & CSAEM) and RA 9231 further strengthened awareness on child protection.

As part of the initiative, 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐞 (𝐏𝐀𝐓) brought smiles to the children through gifts such as food packs, school supplies, hygiene kits, slippers, tumblers, and backpacks — made possible by the generosity of our sponsors.

Additional services included free physical and medical check-ups, profiling for TUPAD and DILP, and free haircuts.
