A fresh start for our learners at Bulbulala Elementary School! ✨

Just in time for the opening of classes, five rehabilitated school buildings housing 13 classrooms are now ready to welcome learners back to school with renewed spaces for learning and growth.

Congratulations to the faculty, staff, and administration of Bulbulala Elementary School on this milestone. May these improved classrooms inspire learning, growth, and success for every learner who walks through their doors.

Our heartfelt thanks to the Department of Education for its continued commitment to the welfare of our students and for helping elevate the learning experience of young La Pazeños.

🏫✨ Better classrooms, brighter opportunities for our learners!

Ahead of the opening of classes, the Local Government Unit of La Paz proudly inaugurated and turned over the newly rehabilitated school building at Malabbaga Elementary School—a 1-storey, 3-classroom building funded through the 2026 20% Development Fund.

Quality education starts with providing our learners and teachers the facilities they need. These improved classrooms will help create a more welcoming and productive space for teaching and learning every day.

Congratulations to the faculty, staff, and administration of Malabbaga Elementary School, led by Mr. Anthony L. Paiste, Master Teacher I/OIC. May this improved facility continue to support quality education and serve generations of learners in the years to come.

As we welcome another school year, the LGU remains committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen our schools and invest in the future of our community.

Empowering La Paz Through Digital Skills and Innovation 💻✨

La Paz continues to take steps toward a more digital and future-ready community through our participation in the Digital PINAS program, in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme, the Department of Information and Communications Technology, and the Department of Trade and Industry.

From April 6 to 9, our youth took part in the Digital Champions Workshop at the Tech4Ed Center in La Paz. It was great to see young entrepreneurs actively learning how to use digital tools to grow their businesses, improve their online presence, and build their brands.

At the same time, from April 7 to 8, Mayor Niña Bernos joined our Local Government Unit team in Baguio City for the Digital Governance Training—an important step in improving how we deliver services through faster, more efficient, and technology-driven systems.

These activities may seem simple, but they play a big role in helping our community adapt, grow, and stay connected in a rapidly changing world.

We’re excited to keep building a La Paz that is more innovative, inclusive, and ready for new opportunities.

Agtultuloy ti progreso! 🙌

WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS | March 23–31, 2026

Progress is built in the everyday moments — in the people we recognize, the communities we support, and the plans we make for a better La Paz. 🤝

This week, I had the privilege of personally awarding cash incentives to our CARAA medalists. Your discipline and hard work continue to bring pride and inspiration to our town. We’re proud of you! 🏅

We also strengthened our commitment to safer communities through our PuroKalusugan Road Safety Awareness activity, while continuing to plan for the future during the Provincial Development Council meeting to ensure La Paz benefits from upcoming national programs.

Caring for our people remains our priority. We made sure our senior citizens received their DSWD support, and we celebrated the strength of La Pazeña women during our Women’s Month activities attended by nearly 400 participants — a beautiful reminder of unity and empowerment. 💜

Support for our farmers also continues as we received livelihood assistance from DOLE for the Canan and Pidipid farmers’ associations to help expand their agricultural projects and opportunities. 🌾

There’s still much work to be done, but with your support, we continue to take steady steps forward every single week.

Together, let’s keep building the La Paz we all deserve. Agtultuloy ti progreso! ✨

WEEKLY RECAP | March 16-19, 2026

The past couple of weeks have been filled with meaningful meetings and important milestones for La Paz. 🧡

I attended a DOE briefing to better understand how global events may affect our local communities. We also witnessed the groundbreaking of a modern swine facility in Barangay Toon, which will help support our farmers and strengthen our local agriculture.

I also met with our DSWD–CAR partners to ensure the smooth implementation of our KALAHI-CIDSS projects. During the exit conference with the BLGF Regional Director after the inspection of our Treasury Office, we also discussed ways to improve our local revenue collection so we can continue providing better services.

We remain committed to putting our people first as we continue to move La Paz forward, together. 🤝✨

A meaningful first League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) General Assembly as part of the League’s leadership. 🇵🇭

From the coordination meeting with the National Secretariat and support staff and the inspection of the General Assembly venue, to presiding over the 3rd LMP National Directorate Meeting together with our National President, the experience was both productive and inspiring.

We also led the presentation of the 1,157 mayors from different provincial delegations, witnessed the Memorandum of Agreement signing of new and existing LMP partners, and led in the Secretary General’s report and adoption of key General Assembly resolutions.

I was also glad to spend time with my fellow Abra mayors, strengthening our collaboration as we continue working for the progress of our province and our communities.

We thank the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for their continued support to local governments.

I commend the LMP National Secretariat, led by Executive Director Andrea Loriaga, for the success of the 2026 General Assembly.

Truly a memorable first General Assembly — a reminder that when municipalities work together, we build stronger and more empowered communities.
