𝙅𝙐𝙎𝙏 𝙄𝙉: The Sustainability, Innovation, Leadership, Linkages, Access and Growth Region 1 (SILLAG Region 1) Track 2 Proposal of the Department of Science and Technology Region 1 (DOST Region 1) has been approved by the Governing Council on September 18, 2025, at the Philippine Heritage Center, DOST Compound Bicutan, Taguig City.

The proposal is among the Track 2 under the Regional Startup Enabler for Ecosystem Development (ReSEED) Program of the DOST–Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development.

Dr. Teresita A. Tabaog, DOST Region 1 Director and SILLAG Region 1 Chairperson, together with Engr. Arnold C. Santos, SILLAG Project Leader, presented the project’s objectives, expected outputs, and potential contributions to regional development and innovation.

The SILLAG Region 1 community celebrates this milestone as part of the nationwide effort to strengthen startup ecosystems and foster innovation-driven development.

The Pangasinan State University Lingayen Campus is gearing up for SIKLAB: Training of Youth Innovators, a dynamic event set to ignite the spark of innovation among its mentors and students. Scheduled for September 5, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the DVITC Library, this intensive training will serve as a launchpad for groundbreaking ideas.

More than just a training session, SIKLAB will also function as a pitching competition, where participants will have the chance to refine and showcase their innovative concepts. The most promising ideas from Lingayen Campus will then be submitted to the prestigious NEXTGenPH: Youth Innovators Reimagining Public Service Contest, organized by the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP).

Leading the training are seasoned mentors with a proven track record in pitching competitions, along with esteemed faculty members Dr. Jessica James C. Paiso, Prof. Ferdinand V. Dalisay, and Dr. Vladimir Marie Cabutotan, all trained in DAP's Designing Citizen-Centered Public Services course. This initiative is made possible through the vision and support of Campus Executive Director, Dr. Renato E. Salcedo, who is committed to fostering a culture of innovation and public service among the youth.

𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐏𝐎𝐒𝐀𝐋𝐒 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝐈𝐍𝐍𝐎𝐕𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐒

The Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev), as Secretariat to the National Innovation Council (NIC), invites eligible government organizations to submit proposals for innovation programs, activities, and projects (PAPs) to be funded under the 2025 Innovation Grants.

This initiative is designed to promote innovation as a key driver of national development and economic growth, particularly in supporting marginalized communities and integrating micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) within both domestic and global supply chains, in accordance with Republic Act No. 11293 or the Philippine Innovation Act.

📋 Who are Eligible to Apply?
· National Government Agencies (NGAs) — including attached agencies, regional offices, and operating units;
· Local Government Units (LGUs) — including local universities and colleges (LUCs);
· State Universities and Colleges (SUCs); and
· Government-Owned and –Controlled Corporations (GOCCs).

💡 What Types of Proposals are Funded?
Proposals are welcome in any of these areas:
· Pre-commercialization, commercialization, or diffusion activities;
· Innovation facilities and services;
· Promotion of innovation culture and capacity-building; and
· Innovation policy development and administration.
