𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗡𝗢𝗪! | LGU MAYOYAO, DTI IFUGAO PARTNER TO ENHANCE BANANA AND TARO CHIPS PROCESSING SKILLS

MAYOYAO, Ifugao. LGU Mayoyao in partership with DTI Ifugao is currently conducting a skills training on banana and taro chips processing. This activity is fully funded by the Local Government Unit of Mayoyao as part of the 2026 Mayoyao Business Summit today.

Mrs. Roselyn C. Montoya from Alfonso Lista of the OPFOB food processing serves as the resource speaker for the activity.

The training started with a prayer followed by the introduction of the resource speaker and participants. Mrs. Montoya directly demonstrates the proper way if processing the taro and banana, from the preparation stage of banana and taro until it became chips.

She higlighted the importance of selecting quality raw materials and damaged parts must be removed in order to preserve its original flavor.

The activity aims to provide MSMEs the skills which can help them create and generate a livelihood. A skill and livelihood that can be passed to the next generations. 40 of these MSMEs are being capacitated on banana and taro chips processing.

MAYOYAO, Ifugao. LGU Mayoyao partners with DTI Ifugao in conducting sessions on Entrepreneurial Mind Setting and Introduction of Records Manangement and Bookkeeping as part of the 2026 Mayoyao Business Summit today,

The sessions aim to strengthen participants’ entrepreneurial skills and equip them with essential knowledge in managing business records and maintaining accurate financial transactions.

The activity also seeks to help entrepreneurs develop a growth-oriented mindset and adopt sound recordkeeping practices to support informed business decisions and sustainable business operations.

MAYOYAO, Ifugao. LGU Mayoyao in partnership with DTI Ifugao is currently conducting an Intellectual Property (IP) Rights 101 seminar titled “Protecting Your Creative Work” as part of the 2026 Mayoyao Business Summit today.

Engr. Jeanne Dugui-es Dangkeo of the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL)–Baguio serves as the resource speaker for the activity.

The seminar covers two modules focusing on understanding intellectual property and protecting creative works and innovations. Topics include intellectual property fundamentals, the importance of IP protection, trademarks, copyrights, patents, utility models, and industrial designs.

The session also highlights IPOPHL support programs to help participants understand the available resources for protecting their intellectual property.

The activity aims to raise awareness among entrepreneurs and other stakeholders on the importance of safeguarding their brands, creative works, and innovations to support business growth and competitiveness.

MAYOYAO, Ifugao. DTI-Ifugao conducted an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign on Fair Trade Laws, particularly product standards, during the Mayoyao Business Summit on October 8, 2026.

The activity aimed to raise awareness among business owners and stakeholders about product quality, safety requirements, and compliance with government-mandated standards to promote consumer protection and fair business practices.

𝗬𝗘𝗣: 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗢𝘄𝗻 𝗕𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗼, 𝗜𝗳𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗼

The Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP): You Can Be Your Own Boss (YCBYOB), in partnership with LGU Mayoyao through the DTI Negosyo Center-Mayoyao, was successfully conducted on September 22–25, 2026 in Mayoyao, Ifugao.

The four day training empowered young participants to explore entrepreneurship, with emphasis on e commerce and digital innovation. Anchored on three components—Youth Start, Youth Net, and Youth Match—the program fostered entrepreneurial mindset, introduced business models under the DTI 7Ms strategy, and culminated in a Business Pitching Competition where participants presented their business plans.

Through YEP, more young people are being equipped to harness technology, embrace innovation, and contribute to local economic growth.

LAMUT, IFUGAO— Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and aspiring entrepreneurs gathered at the Municipal Livelihood Center in Lamut, Ifugao, on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, for a joint capacity-building seminar focused on financial management and digital marketing.

Organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Ifugao, the training aimed to boost the competitiveness and sustainability of local businesses in the municipality.

During the event, representatives from DTI conducted a session on financial literacy, providing participants with essential guidance on basic bookkeeping, financial management, and smart business planning.

Meanwhile, Praise Napiloy from DICT Ifugao served as the resource speaker for social media marketing, sharing strategies on how local entrepreneurs can leverage online platforms to expand their market reach, connect with customers, and strengthen their digital presence.

The initiative is part of ongoing inter-agency efforts to promote sustainable economic development and digital readiness among small businesses across Ifugao.

MAYOYAO, Ifugao. The 2026 Mayoyao Business Summit officially opened today, under the theme “Connect, Empower, Grow.”

As keynote speaker, Department of Trade and Industry–Cordillera Regional Director Atty. Raymond G. Panhon emphasized the importance of creating stronger linkages among businesses, government, and other stakeholders. He also encouraged participants to maximize the summit by actively engaging in discussions, building networks, and learning about programs and opportunities that can help their enterprises grow.

RD Panhon also thanked the LGU Mayoyao for initiating the business summit, noting the importance of bringing stakeholders together to create opportunities for local enterprises.

Moreover, the Cordillera Trade Chief also discussed the potential benefits of Cordillera autonomy, particularly in strengthening regional development and creating an environment where MSMEs can thrive. He described autonomy as an opportunity for greater progress and development that could benefit businesses and communities across the region, including Ifugao.
