“𝐀 𝐆𝐈𝐅𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐋𝐈𝐅𝐄: 𝟏𝟎𝐓𝐇 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐂𝐎𝐌-𝐖𝐈𝐃𝐄 𝐁𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐃 𝐃𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐓𝐘.”

ILOCOS NORTE | 15 August 2026 — Personnel of the 101st Community Defense Center, 1RCDG, RCPA, led by LTC PEDRO A. DACANAY JR. (INF) PA, Director, took part in the 10th RESCOM-Wide Simultaneous Blood Donation Activity with the theme: “ANG INYONG MATATAG NA TAGAPAG-BUO NG LAANG KAWAL” held at the Gymnasium of Data Center College of the Philippines (DCCP), Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.

The activity gathered reservists, ROTC cadets, CWTS and LTS trainees, and civilian volunteers who came together to support a common cause of promoting volunteerism, community service, and life-saving efforts.

The successful conduct of the activity was strengthened by the generous support of various partners and stakeholders, including Mr. Joseph D. Sicco, President of DCCP-Laoag City; Dr. Jay-Lynne May S. Escalona, NSTP Director of DCCP-Laoag City; the City Government of Laoag, under the leadership of Hon. Mayor James Bryan Alcid; COL FRANCIS B. CABUGON PA (Ret.); LTC EDGAR D. TUBIERA PA (Ret.); Urban Wave Resort; Mr. Carlos E. Miguel, Coca-Cola Bottlers Plant Manager; the United Northern Ilocos Finest Eagles Club (UNIFEC) and Princess Urduja Finest Eagles Club (PUFEC); Hon. Jaybee Baquiran, City Councilor of Laoag City; and Hon. Enrico “Kiko” Ang, City Councilor of Laoag City. Their continued cooperation and support played an important role in the success of the blood donation drive.

The initiative underscored the importance of compassion, unity, volunteerism, and community service, as participants willingly donated blood to help patients in need. Medical personnel from the City Health Office of Laoag City and the Blood Bank of Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center (MMMH&MC), headed by Dr. Suzette Leong, conducted the blood extraction, resulting in the successful collection of 37,350 cc of blood. The activity further demonstrated the Reserve Force’s dedication to humanitarian service and community engagement, showing how collaboration and generosity can bring hope and provide a life-saving opportunity to those in need.

On 09 August 2026, personnel of this Center, led by LTC PEDRO A DACANAY JR (INF) PA, Director, together with the training staff of the DCCP ROTC Unit, conducted the Opening Ceremony of the Basic and Advanced ROTC Cadets, Pinning of Ranks, and Turn-Over of the Corps Commander at the DCCP Gymnasium, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.

The activity was graced by MAJ NECKSON C LICUD (INF) PA, Battalion Executive Officer, 56th Infantry Battalion, 7th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, who served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker. In his message, he emphasized the importance of discipline, leadership, responsibility, and dedication to duty as essential qualities of future leaders and responsible citizens.

The ceremony marked the beginning of another training cycle for the ROTC cadets and underscored their commitment to leadership and service. The pinning of ranks symbolized the cadets’ assumption of greater responsibilities, while the turn-over of the Corps Commander signified the continuity of leadership and the enduring spirit of service embodied by the ROTC program. Through ROTC, young leaders are empowered to serve with discipline, integrity, and patriotism.

A historic achievement for Data Center College of the Philippines (DCCP)! The DCCP ROTC Unit was recognized as the RAATI 2026 Regional Champion during the 53rd Founding Anniversary of the 1st Regional Community Defense Group, RCPA in Manaoag, Pangasinan. The prestigious RAATI Championship Trophy was ceremonially presented by MGEN RONALD JESS S ALCUDIA PA, RESCOM Commander, marking a proud milestone for the DCCP community.

Under the leadership of LTC JOWIE T BERMUDES PA (RET., DCCP ROTC Unit Commandant, the cadet officers and training staff demonstrated outstanding discipline, precision, teamwork, and determination, earning the RAATI 2026 Championship and the Streamer Award for Best in Comprehensive Exams—a testament to their excellence in both training and academics.

The championship trophy was proudly received by MR JOSEPH D SICCO, DCCP School President, DR JAY-LYNNE MAY S ESCALONA, NSTP Director and LTC PEDRO A DACANAY JR (INF) PA, Director of 101CDC, 1RCDG, RCPA. The award reflects the hard work, dedication, and excellence of the DCCP ROTC Unit, supported by its cadets, training staff, Commandant, and administration. LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte - August 07, 2026, LTC PEDRO A DACANAY JR (INF) PA, Director of the 101st Community Defense Center, 1st Regional Community Defense Group, Reserve Command, Philippine Army, met with Mr Maurice Philip A Pugal, Labor and Employment Officer III, to strengthen the partnership between the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the 101st CDC through the Government Internship Program (GIP).

The meeting reflects the unit's support for government programs that provide meaningful opportunities for aspiring young professionals.

During the meeting, LTC DACANAY JR formally turned over the GIP Partnership Agreement and discussed the deployment, assignment, and administrative requirements for GIP interns who will be assigned to the 101st CDC. The program will allow interns to gain valuable work experience while supporting the unit's administrative and operational activities.

This partnership highlights the commitment of the 101st CDC and DOLE to developing future public servants through practical learning and inter-agency cooperation. It also strengthens the unit's capability while helping prepare interns for careers in public service.

LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte – In line with the Philippine Army’s commitment to enhancing the readiness and capability of its Reserve Force, the 701st Brigade, 7th Infantry Division, PA, conducted a coordination visit to the 101st Community Defense Center, 1st Regional Community Defense Group, Reserve Command, Philippine Army (RCPA).

BGEN ALLAN JOSE L TAGUBA PA, Commander, 701st Brigade, 7ID, PA, together with LTC ALI B SUMANGIL INF (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer, 56th Infantry Battalion, 7ID, PA, and their staff officers, visited the 101st Community Defense Center and were warmly received by LTC PEDRO A DACANAY JR INF PA, Director of the Center. The visit provided an opportunity for productive discussions on future plans, programs, and activities focused on strengthening Reserve Force capabilities, improving coordination among concerned units, and maximizing the support of reservists within the Area of Responsibility (AOR).

The engagement reaffirmed the importance of unity, partnership, and sustained cooperation between the regular and reserve components of the Philippine Army. Through continuous collaboration and the implementation of responsive development programs, the organization remains steadfast in building a more capable, resilient, and mission-ready Reserve Force that contributes to operational effectiveness and the attainment of national security objectives.

Laoag City, Ilocos Norte — GOVERNOR HON. CECILIA ARANETA-MARCOS welcomed key officials of the Philippine Army during a courtesy visit to formally discuss the assumption of the newly assigned 701st Brigade, Philippine Army, which will oversee military operations and strengthen coordination efforts in the Province of Ilocos Norte.

The engagement was attended by BGEN ALLAN JOSE L TAGUBA PA, Commander of the 701st Brigade, 7ID, PA, together with LTC PEDRO A DACANAY JR INF PA, Director of the 101st Community Defense Center, 1RCDG, RCPA, and LTC ALI B SUMANGIL INF (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer of the 56th Infantry Battalion, 7ID, PA, along with their respective staff officers.

JULY 28, 2026 – The 101st Community Defense Center, 1RCDG, RCPA welcomed COL FRANCIS B CABUGON, PA (Ret), former Group Commander of the 1st Reserve Command Group (1RCDG), Reserve Command, Philippine Army (RCPA). He was received by LTC PEDRO A DACANAY JR (INF), PA, Director, together with 1LT ARSENIO A MANUEL, PA (RES), Bravo Company Commander, 101st Regional Reserve Infantry Battalion (RRIBn).

The visit provided an opportunity for meaningful discussions on Reserve Force Development and the implementation of Territorial Defense Operations (TDO) within the Center's Area of Responsibility (AOR). COL CABUGON shared his experiences and insights, emphasizing the importance of strengthening reserve force capabilities, enhancing operational readiness, and promoting effective territorial defense through continuous learning and collaboration.

The exchange of ideas underscored the Center's commitment to professional development, partnership, and excellence in preparing reserve personnel to meet evolving security challenges.
