The Municipal Agriculture Office, in partnership with the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office IX (DA RFO IX), successfully conducted the distribution of fertilizer for Hybrid Rice beneficiaries under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF).

Farmer-beneficiaries from the barangays of Tiguha, Carpoc, Talabob, Lubosan, and Mahalingeb received fertilizer assistance to support the ongoing cropping season and enhance rice productivity. This initiative aims to help farmers reduce production costs, improve crop performance, and contribute to food security in the municipality.

This activity was made possible through the unwavering support of Hon. Nelsa B. Sulong, Municipal Mayor of Lapuyan, together with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Lapuyan, in its continued commitment to strengthening the agricultural sector and improving the livelihood of local farmers.

Through the continued collaboration of DA RFO IX, MAO Lapuyan, and our farmer-beneficiaries, we remain committed to advancing a more productive and sustainable rice farming sector.

Strengthening our commitment to sustainable agriculture! 🌱

The Municipality of Lapuyan participated in the seminar "Empowering Small-Scale Vegetable Growers for Sustainable Production and Management in Zamboanga del Sur" conducted by the J.H. Cerilles State College – Community Extension Service Office.

The seminar equipped participants with valuable knowledge on climate-smart vegetable farming, sustainable production techniques, and effective farm management practices. Through this initiative, local farmers and agricultural stakeholders are empowered to improve productivity, enhance food security, and promote environmentally responsible farming for the benefit of their communities.

Together, let us continue supporting our farmers in building a more resilient and sustainable agricultural sector. 🌾💚

🌾Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Program🌾
The Municipal Agriculture Office conducted the release of fertilizer allocation to qualified in**ed rice farmer-beneficiaries for the Wet Season 2026.

This intervention aims to support rice farmers by providing quality fertilizer to help improve productivity, reduce production costs, and contribute to a more productive and sustainable rice industry. The Municipal Agriculture Office remains committed to delivering timely agricultural services and assistance to the farming community.

🌽 San Jose Farmers Association Receives Compact Corn Mill Under the Corn Program 🌽

The San Jose Farmers Association (San Jose FA) officially received a Compact Corn Mill from the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office IX (DA RFO-IX) under the Corn Program, in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Lapuyan.

The equipment was formally received by San Jose Farmers Association President Rodelio A. Besirel in the presence of Municipal Mayor Hon. Nelsa B. Sulong and Municipal Agriculturist Ms. Janaura B. Rivera, reaffirming their shared commitment to supporting local farmers through sustainable agricultural development.

The Compact Corn Mill is expected to enhance post-harvest processing, improve the quality and value of locally produced corn, reduce processing costs, and increase income opportunities for the members of the San Jose Farmers Association.

This initiative reflects the strong partnership between the LGU of Lapuyan and DA RFO-IX in providing appropriate agricultural technologies and support services that contribute to a more productive, resilient, and sustainable corn industry.

Congratulations to the San Jose Farmers Association! May this equipment be managed responsibly and utilized effectively for the benefit of the association and the continued development of the municipality's corn industry.

🌱 Distribution of Cassava Seed Pieces and Fertilizer Assistance 🌱

The Municipal Agriculture Office of Lapuyan, in partnership with the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office IX under the Corn Program, successfully distributed cassava seed pieces and fertilizer assistance to six (6) farmer-beneficiaries of the Tamatica Farmers Cluster Association.

Each beneficiary received cassava seed pieces and two (2) bags of fertilizer per hectare to support cassava production, increase farm productivity, and improve the livelihoods of local farmers. This initiative reflects the continuing commitment of the government to strengthen food security and promote sustainable agricultural development in the municipality.

We extend our sincere appreciation to DA RFO-IX and the farmer-beneficiaries for their cooperation and support in the successful implementation of this program.
