A day of learning, reflection, and strengthened commitment to our shared mission unfolded last May 28, 2026 as we welcomed the National Steering Committee (NSC) and the Project Technical Review Committee (PTRC) under the UNDP Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme (SGP-7) for their site visitation and monitoring.

The activity became more meaningful as it gathered passionate youth leaders and environmental advocates from across Catubig and Las Navas including LinisSiklab Matelarag, Green Lumalaog Youth Connect, CUYA—ESCRSD, Catubig Youth for a Green and Sustainable Future, Del Pilar Las Navas (Del Pilar Eco Guard Organization), Community Organized for Responsible and Empowered, Y Green Warriors, and Brgy. Opong Youth Camp Organization. The presence of the Catubig Business Councilor and the Municipal Local Government Operations Officer further highlighted the importance of collaboration between youth and local governance in advancing sustainability goals.

More than a monitoring activity, the visit served as a powerful reminder that collective action fuels real change. Stories were shared, progress was recognized, and future directions were strengthened, all rooted in the vision of responsible stewardship, climate resilience, and sustainable community development. Together, we continue to prove that empowered youth and supportive institutions can transform communities and protect what matters most for generations to come.

YLead Development Initiatives Organization Inc. recently had the privilege of meeting with another international funder alongside Former UN Ambassador Maria Arlene Reazon at MCBPC Regus Business Center. The dialogue created a space where ideas, experiences, and commitments came together, opening opportunities to strengthen initiatives that uplift communities and protect vital resources.

Through discussions on sustainability, leadership, and community empowerment, the foundation was laid for potential collaborations that can expand the reach of ongoing projects and introduce innovative approaches to development work.

Progress begins with a shared vision, and today marks a meaningful step forward for the future of our environment in Catubig. YLead Development Initiatives Organization Inc. held an inception meeting with Municipal Mayor of Catubig, Hon. Solomon G. Vicencio, to discuss the expansion of the 𝘾𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙗𝙞𝙜 𝙒𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙚𝙙 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙟𝙚𝙘𝙩, a growing initiative rooted in community action and environmental stewardship. The conversation opened doors to stronger collaboration between local governance and youth-led efforts, aiming to protect and sustain one of the municipality’s most vital natural resources.

The watershed is more than just a source of water, it is a lifeline that supports livelihoods, agriculture, and the overall balance of our ecosystem. Through this expansion, we envision a broader reach that empowers more communities to take part in conservation, restoration, and responsible resource management. With the support of our local leaders, this initiative moves beyond plans and becomes a collective commitment to safeguard the future.

In a day filled with purpose and shared commitment, YLead Development Initiatives Organization Inc. proudly took part in the 𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐑𝐎 𝐎𝐚𝐭𝐡-𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲 held at the Provincial Capitol Gym in Catarman, Northern Samar. The gathering brought together environmental champions from different barangays, marking a significant step toward strengthening grassroots leadership in environmental protection and sustainable resource management. Our organization was honored to serve not only as a participant but also as a partner in advancing community-driven action for the environment.

Guiding the flow of the program with confidence and dedication were our very own President, Ms. Lanie G. Bacula, and Corporate Secretary, Ms. Redilen B. Montenegro, who served as hosts for the event. Their leadership reflected the heart of YLead, empowering voices, fostering collaboration, and inspiring collective responsibility. The oath-taking of 116 Deputy Environment and Natural Resources Officers stands as a powerful reminder that real change begins within communities, where local leaders rise to protect and nurture the natural resources entrusted to them.

This event is essential as it reinforces the connection between governance, youth leadership, and environmental stewardship. It highlights the importance of equipping communities with the knowledge and responsibility to act, ensuring that conservation efforts are not only policies on paper but actions lived out every day. 📍BRGY. CANUCTAN, CATUBIG, NORTHERN SAMAR — Just like the waters that define their home, the Canuctan Salog Youth Movement is a force of nature—constant, powerful, and life-giving. We recently gathered in Brgy. Canuctan for a consultative session that focused on turning that raw energy into a structured movement for change. It was an afternoon dedicated to ensuring that the "Salog" spirit flows toward a more organized and empowered future.

Our discussion was a blend of reflection and preparation. We took a moment to celebrate the milestones they’ve already crossed before rolling up our sleeves to plan the logistics for their upcoming clean-up drive. Understanding that a movement is only as strong as its foundation, we spent significant time on the "behind-the-scenes" essentials—organizing their administrative reports, updating vital documents, and establishing a firm rhythm for their monthly meetings.

To make sure their voice carries across the region, we also collaborated on building their digital identity. By launching the organization’s official page and email, we have provided a platform for their advocacy to be seen and heard. The Canuctan Salog Youth Movement is no longer just a local initiative; they are now a digitally-connected team ready to document their ripples of impact. The current is moving, and the youth of Canuctan are leading the way.

📍BRGY. STA. FE, CATUBIG, NORTHERN SAMAR — Y Green Warriors isn't just an organization; they are the frontline defenders of their community’s future, and their energy for service is nothing short of contagious.

During our time together, we looked back at their recent accomplishments, using their successes as fuel for what’s next. The primary focus of our strategy session was the tactical planning of their upcoming clean-up drive, ensuring that their environmental advocacy leaves a lasting mark on the landscape of Sta. Fe. We also tackled the essential of organizational health—updating their reports, refining their documentation, and establishing a consistent schedule for monthly meetings to keep their goals on track and their members united.

To ensure their green mission resonates far beyond the borders of their barangay, we worked side-by-side to launch the Y-Green Warriors' official page and email. By establishing this digital bridge, we’re helping them document their journey and inspire others to join the cause. With their boots on the ground and their vision now visible to the world, the Y-Green Warriors are proving that the youth of Sta. Fe are ready to lead with both heart and strategy.

Opong Youth Camp Organization, a group that truly understands that a strong community is built on a foundation of readiness and collective action. This wasn’t just a meeting—it was a strategic alignment of goals and passion.

Our conversation kicked off with a deep dive into the organization's recent milestones, celebrating the wins that have brought them this far. But we didn't stop at the past.
