The Department of Labor and Employment โ€“ Western Leyte Field Office (DOLE WLFO8), led by Mr. Rosilito T. Ygaรฑa, Senior LEO/HEAD, in partnership with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Abuyog, conducted a Technical and Advisory Visit (TAV) to various micro establishments in Abuyog today as part of its continuing advocacy on promoting labor law compliance and ensuring decent work conditions at the grassroots level.

The TAV is one of DOLEโ€™s proactive strategies under its Labor Inspection Program, aimed not only at assessing the compliance of establishments with labor standards but also at educating and empowering micro-entrepreneurs on their roles and responsibilities as employers. This approach helps establish a culture of voluntary compliance, rather than fear-based enforcement.

The Local Government Unit of Abuyog, through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), expresses its full support for DOLEโ€™s mission and remains steadfast in its commitment to assist micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in growing responsibly striking a balance between business success and the protection of workersโ€™ rights and welfare.

๐Ÿ“ข TESDA Bread and Pastry Production NC II Training

The trainers of Calubian Technical Vocational School (CTVS), in coordination with the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) staff, successfully conducted a courtesy call with Ms. Ruth G. Jordan, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer; Ms. Luz Co**ha K. Daganzo, Municipal Administrator; and our very supportive Municipal Mayor, Hon. Mayor Lemuel Gin K. Traya .

The courtesy call focused on the upcoming conduct of the TESDA Bread and Pastry Production NC II Training, which aims to equip participants with valuable skills and provide opportunities for employment, livelihood, and entrepreneurship.

The training participants are members of the Sustainable Livelihood Program Association (SLPA) of Barangay Bayabas, Abuyog, Leyte.

Through the continued support and collaboration of the LGU Abuyog, SLP, TESDA, and Calubian Technical Vocational School, we remain committed to empowering our communities through skills development and sustainable livelihood opportunities.
