Mayorga, Leyte – November 14, 2025.
Members of the Mayorga Association of Barangay Secretaries were subjected to an Assessment Examination for all Barangay Secretaries as part of its continuing efforts to strengthen local governance and ensure quality public service at the barangay level.
The assessment aims to measure the stock knowledge, administrative skills, and overall competence of Barangay Secretaries in relation to their mandated duties and responsibilities. This initiative forms part of the LGU’s commitment to professionalize barangay operations and provide targeted capacity-building interventions.
The exam was administered by the Office of the Municipal Local Government Operations Office, stressing the importance of the activity, stating that the barangay, being the basic political unit, must be supported by capable administrative officers. “Barangay Secretaries play a vital role in ensuring that government processes at the grassroots level remain transparent, organized, and efficient. This examination will help identify strengths and areas for improvement to be able to provide the right training and support.
The Local Government Unit extends its appreciation to all participating Barangay Secretaries for their cooperation and dedication to improving public service delivery.
The association and the office of the MLGOO extend our appreciation and gratitude to the Barangay Government of Brgy Ormocay through PB Zosimo Alpino as well as the family of the Barangay Secretary, Charibeth Cabantac for hosting the monthly meeting of which the examination served as one of the highlights of the meeting.
