๐๐ฅ JOINT 2ND QUARTER MEETING OF THE LOCAL SCHOOL BOARD AND LOCAL HEALTH BOARD
The Joint 2nd Quarter Meeting of the Local School Board and Local Health Board was successfully convened on June 4, 2026, under the leadership of Hon. Amparo H. Monteza, Municipal Mayor of Santa Fe, Leyte.
The two local special bodies gathered to discuss key matters concerning education and health services in the municipality. Among the topics deliberated were the allocation and utilization of the Special Education Fund (SEF); school-based health initiatives of the Rural Health Unit (RHU), including immunization, free medicines, and medical consultations under the YAKAP Program; and priority interventions for pupils and students such as gardening, waste segregation, and environmental awareness.
The meeting likewise emphasized the importance of addressing teenage pregnancy, discussed updates and implementation strategies for the YAKAP Program, tackled civil registration concerns involving pupils and students, reviewed the requirements and processes for the conversion of the RHU into a Primary Care Facility, and highlighted the maintenance and sustainability of barangay hapag or community gardens as part of the municipalityโs efforts to combat wasting, stunting, malnutrition, and other related health concerns.
Through collaboration and shared commitment, the Local School Board and Local Health Board continue to strengthen programs and services that promote the health, well-being, and education of every Santafenhon, paving the way for a healthier and more empowered community.
