Kaugnay ng pagsisimula ng panahon ng tag-ulan, pinaigting ng Coast Guard Station (CGS) Bataan ang pakikipag-ugnayan nito sa mga Local Government Unit (LGU) at mga baybaying barangay sa Lalawigan ng Bataan upang isulong ang kahandaan sa sakuna at kaligtasan sa karagatan ng mga mangingisda at mamamayan.

Bilang bahagi ng programang ito, nagsagawa ang CGS Bataan ng information dissemination activities at namahagi ng mga “Paalala sa mga Mangingisda” upang mapataas ang kamalayan ng publiko hinggil sa mga panganib na dulot ng masamang panahon at kahalagahan ng pagsunod sa mga panuntunan sa kaligtasan sa karagatan.

Binigyang-diin sa mga paalala ang kahalagahan ng pagsubaybay sa mga ulat ng panahon, pagtiyak sa maayos na kondisyon ng mga sasakyang pandagat, pagsusuot ng life-saving equipment, at agarang pag-uulat ng anumang insidente o emerhensiyang pandagat sa pinakamalapit na himpilan ng Coast Guard.

Ipinapakita ng gawaing ito ang patuloy na pagsasabuhay ng Philippine Coast Guard sa layunin ng PCG ICARE Program (Intensified Community Assistance, Awareness, Response, and Enforcement) sa pagsusulong ng kaligtasan sa karagatan, mahusay na serbisyo publiko, at matatag na pakikipag-ugnayan sa komunidad.

On 27 May 2026, personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station Mariveles together with Coast Guard Intelligence Unit Bataan successfully intercepted and apprehended F/Bca “MARCO” and F/Bca “2 Sisters” following maritime pursuit operations within the vicinity waters of Mariveles, Bataan.

Recovered during the operation were compressor apparatus and spearguns allegedly being utilized for illegal fishing activities within municipal waters.

Subsequently, the apprehended individuals, fishing bancas, and seized paraphernalia were properly turned over to the Municipal Agriculture Office of Mariveles for appropriate disposition and filing of charges pursuant to existing municipal fisheries ordinances.

This successful operation highlights the Philippine Coast Guard’s continuing commitment to protecting marine resources, enforcing fisheries laws, and safeguarding the country’s municipal waters against illegal fishing activities through the PCG ICARE (Intensified Community Assistance, Awareness, Response, and Enforcement) Program.

On 17 May 2026, personnel of Coast Guard Station Bataan, Coast Guard Sub-Station Abucay, CGSOU Bataan and MEPTC Abucay rendered maritime safety and security assistance during the conduct of the Pagoda 2026 Fluvial Procession in Brgy. Omboy, Abucay, Bataan, attended by Hon. Erik J. Martel, Municipal Mayor of Abucay, together with other local officials, guests, and devotees.

The activity was successfully conducted through close coordination with the Barangay LGU of Omboy, MDRRMO Abucay, BFP Abucay, PNP Abucay, and other partner agencies in ensuring the safety, security, and orderly movement of all participating motor bancas and passengers.

This activity highlights the Philippine Coast Guard’s commitment under the PCG ICARE Program (Intensified Community Assistance, Awareness, Response, and Enforcement) in promoting maritime safety, public service, and community partnership.

Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), through Coast Guard Station (CGS) Bataan and Coast Guard Intelligence Unit (CGIU) Bataan, conducted an operation against the illegal sale of untaxed to***co products at a local establishment in Pilar, Bataan, with the assistance of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Bataan.

Following the confirmation of the reported activity, BIR Bataan provided technical support in the identification, inventory, and confiscation of the said items. The confiscated ci******es were found to be non-compliant with existing tax regulations and were subsequently turned over to BIR Region III for proper disposition and safekeeping.

This activity underscores the strong inter-agency collaboration between the Philippine Coast Guard and the Bureau of Internal Revenue, highlighting the vital role of BIR in supporting enforcement efforts related to tax compliance, while reinforcing the PCG’s commitment to the PCG ICARE Program—Intensified Community Assistance, Awareness, Response, and Engagement—through active participation in lawful enforcement operations and community protection initiatives.

In line with the celebration of the 58th Founding Anniversary of Coast Guard District National Capital Region – Central Luzon (CGDNCR-CL) with the theme “Matatag na Kaagapay ng Bagong Pilipinas,” the Coast Guard Station (CGS) Bataan was conferred a Plaque of Recognition as Station of the Year “C.” The award highlights the station’s outstanding performance, operational efficiency, and unwavering commitment in the ex*****on of its mandated functions.

The recognition reflects CGS Bataan’s significant accomplishments in maritime law enforcement operations, coastal security patrols, search and rescue missions, and marine environmental protection initiatives. Through consistent professionalism, discipline, and dedication, the station has effectively contributed to maintaining maritime safety and security within its area of responsibility.

This achievement is a testament to the collective efforts of CGS Bataan personnel, together with the invaluable support of partner agencies, local government units, and maritime stakeholders. On 22 April 2026, Coast Guard Station (CGS) Bataan personnel responded to a medical emergency involving a student who experienced hyperventilation in a public area in front of the station.

Upon receipt of the report from a concerned student, CGS Bataan personnel immediately proceeded to the area and provided initial medical assistance. The victim was then transported, together with a college instructor, to the nearest Rural Health Unit for further assessment and first aid.

The student was later confirmed to be in stable condition and advised to undergo further medical evaluation. She was subsequently turned over to her family.

This timely response reflects the Philippine Coast Guard’s commitment to the PCG ICARE Program, which stands for Intensified Community Assistance, Awareness, Response, and Engagement. The program underscores the organization’s dedication to proactive community engagement, swift response to emergencies, and sustained public service in ensuring the safety and welfare of the public.

The Coast Guard District National Capital Region – Central Luzon (CGDNCR-CL), through Coast Guard Station Bataan, attended the Deed of Donation Signing Ceremony on 20 April 2026 for the turnover of thirty (30) cubic meters of logs from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

The ceremony was attended by the Acting Commander of CGDNCR-CL together with the Acting Station Commander of Coast Guard Station Bataan, formally marking the donation of logs intended to support the operational and logistical requirements of the station.

The activity highlights the continued partnership between the Philippine Coast Guard and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in advancing environmental protection initiatives and strengthening inter-agency cooperation within the region, while promoting responsible resource utilization and reinforcing environmental stewardship.

Through the PCG ICARE Program, the Philippine Coast Guard continues to build strong partnerships with national government agencies and stakeholders in protecting the marine environment and ensuring the sustainable use of the country’s coastal and maritime resources.

Coast Guard Station (CGS) Bataan has intensified its preparedness and response measures in anticipation of the possible entry of Super Typhoon “Sinlaku” into the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), which will be locally named “Caloy” upon entry.

Personnel of CGS Bataan and its sub-stations are closely monitoring weather developments and advisories to ensure the safety of lives, property, and the marine environment within the station’s Area of Responsibility. The Deployable Response Group (DRG) has been activated and remains on standby, with rescue assets and communication equipment prepared for immediate deployment.

In line with preemptive response efforts, CGS Bataan has established coordination with respective Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices (LDRRMOs) and local government units to ensure synchronized preparedness measures and effective emergency response operations, should the situation escalate.

Furthermore, advisories have been disseminated to fisherfolk, vessel operators, and coastal communities, urging them to observe precautionary measures, avoid venturing out to sea during adverse weather conditions, and continuously monitor official bulletins from PAGASA regarding the movement and intensity of the weather disturbance.

This proactive initiative underscores the Philippine Coast Guard’s commitment under the ICARE Program (Intensified Community Assistance, Awareness, Response, and Engagement) to safeguard coastal communities and uphold maritime safety and environmental protection.
