All schools are enjoined to observe the following safety reminders and preparedness measures during the observance of the Holy Week 2026. This is to ensure that school properties, learning materials, and vital school records are secured from any potential hazards such as fire or possible occurrence of unauthorized entry or theft.

✅Secure all learning materials, modules, teachers’ manuals, and equipment in locked, elevated, and weatherproof storage areas to prevent damage from both natural and human hazards.
✅Turn off the main electrical switch and water valve in all buildings to eliminate risk of fire, electrical faults, or water leaks while the school and office is unoccupied.
✅Unplug all electrical appliances and devices, including routers, printers, computers, and fans.
✅Double-check and lock all doors and windows, especially in classrooms, storerooms, and offices. Ensure padlocks and door bolts are functioning and sturdy.
✅Conduct pre-leave inspection of all classrooms, offices and facilities, with a checklist to confirm readiness and completeness of all security measures.
✅Coordinate with barangay officials and nearby residents or parent-volunteers to conduct periodic rounds near the school premises, especially at night.
✅Install or test solar lights or motion-sensor lights if available, to illuminate vulnerable or hidden areas of the school.
✅Secure perimeter fences and gates, ensure they are intact and locked. Report any damage to the Division Office for possible assistance.
✅Avoid storing flammable materials near windows or electrical outlets. Dispose of or safely store cleaning agents and other hazardous substances.
✅Enable CCTV or surveillance systems, if available, and check that they are functioning and backed up with power supply or storage.
✅Keep copies of vital school records offsite or in cloud storage, if digital copies are available, as backup in case of theft or disaster.

All are advised to stay informed and alert by monitoring updates from reliable sources, especially those related to safety, weather advisories, and public announcements.

The 𝗗𝗖𝗛 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 is the recommended earthquake safety procedure of DOST-PHIVOLCS for the Philippines.

This strategy, combined with good and proper practice is the safest and best way to survive an earthquake.

Pursuant to DepEd Memorandum OUOPS-2026-04-08938 dated February 18, 2026 and with reference to Division Memorandum No. 185, s.2026, all offices and schools are enjoined to participate in the conduct of the 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘄𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹 (𝗡𝗦𝗘𝗗) 𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟭𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗮𝘁 𝟯:𝟯𝟬 𝗣𝗠.

Schools must continue to intensify the Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaign for earthquake preparedness. A copy of NSED materials can be accessed through https://bit.ly/DepEdNSED.

Self-evaluation and processing of the activity within respective areas of jurisdiction are encouraged after the conduct of NSED. Proper documentation and reporting shall be required. Guidelines on the photo and video documentation is in Annex C of DM-OUOPS-2026-04-08938. Post the photo and video documentation in SDO 1 Pangasinan DRRM Facebook Group with the following caption:

Only five (5) best photos will be selected for submission to the Regional Office. Schools may highlight their best photo in the FB Group by posting it alone (not collage) following the standard caption with description.

School DRRM Coordinators shall accomplish the Monitoring and Reporting Template attached in Annex B of the same issuance. The data information must be reported to the Division DRRM Coordinator not later than March 24, 2026, 5PM via this online link: https://forms.office.com/r/gUrEguj86F. The signed form shall be properly filed for Comprehensive School Safety (CSS) and other DRRM-related monitoring and evaluation purposes.

✅ Bumuo ng Fire Escape Plan na bahagi ng School Contingency Plan for Fire.
✅ Siguraduhin na alam ng mga mag-aaral at kawani ang exit routes at paths. Dapat malinaw at madaling mabasa ang mga signage, at tiyaking walang nakaharang sa exit routes.
✅ Inspeksyunin ang mga pintuan at bintana ng classrooms at iba pang gusali upang matiyak na madaling mabuksan sa oras ng emergency.
✅ Tiyakin ang pagkakaroon ng sapat na fire safety at protection equipment. Bukod sa fire extinguishers, maghanda rin ng balde, hose, at iba pang gamit pang-apula ng sunog.
✅ Panatilihing malinis ang paligid. Iwasang mag-iwan ng natambak na tuyong dahon, papel, at iba pang madaling magliyab na basura.
✅ Magsagawa ng regular na electrical safety inspection at agad na ayusin ang depektibong electrical wirings, sirang bumbilya, at iba pang hazard.
✅ I-unplug ang mga appliances at patayin ang ilaw na hindi ginagamit. Iwasan ang overloading sa electrical outlets.
✅ Regular na magsagawa ng fire drill upang matiyak na handa ang lahat sa anumang insidente ng sunog.
