𝑳𝑶𝑶𝑲 | Pangasinan's municipal mayors came together for the 𝐋𝐌𝐏 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐫𝐬' 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭 spearheaded by Mayor Jeremy Agerico B. Rosario, MD, LMP Pangasinan Chapter President, to strengthen partnerships, share best practices, and discuss innovative ways to better serve their communities. 𝐖𝐀𝐓𝐂𝐇 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 | The League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP), together with its Executive Committee, held an Evening Dialogue with Embassies titled “Bridging Global Partnerships with Local Governments”, anchored on the theme “Strengthening international cooperation through empowered municipalities and inclusive local governance.” The dialogue gathered municipal leaders and members of the diplomatic community to explore pathways for stronger collaboration at the local level.

The activity aimed to open avenues for meaningful partnerships, technical cooperation, investments, and people-to-people exchanges between member-municipalities and foreign embassies. Present were HE Dana Kursh, Israel Ambassador, Mr. Guiloang Yang, Minister Counselor (China), Mr. Wenli Chen, Attache (China), Mr. James Lawler, Second Secretary (Australia), Mr. Matsuda Shigehiro, First Secretary and Director of the Japan Information and Culture Center.

Through stronger global partnerships anchored on empowered local governments, we move closer to municipalities that are not only locally responsive, but globally connected and future-ready.

For the first time ever, the League of Municipalities of the Philippines has secured representation at the United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) World Council.

Our 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐫 𝐅𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐨 “𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨” 𝐃𝐲 𝐕, has been elected as a member of the council. This historic milestone ensures that the voices and advocacies of Philippine municipalities are brought straight to the global forefront.

The UCLG World Council is the principal policy-making body of United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG), the global network that represents local and regional governments worldwide. Composed of 342 elected local and regional leaders, it meets annually to decide the organization's policies, approve work plans, and elect the UCLG Presidency and Executive Bureau.

Congratulations, NP Inno Dy! Thank you for leading LMP to new heights and championing local governance on the world stage.

𝗪𝗔𝗧𝗖𝗛 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 | Mayors from across the country gathered for the 2026 National General Assembly of the League of the Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) held on March 9–10, 2026 at the Manila Marriott Hotel.

The assembly saw the strong presence and active participation of mayors from the LMP Pangasinan Chapter, demonstrating the province’s commitment to advancing responsive and effective local governance.

Carrying the theme “𝙀𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙈𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨, 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧 𝙉𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣: 𝙇𝙤𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙂𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝘾𝙤𝙙𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙖 𝙁𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚-𝙍𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙮 𝙋𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨,” the gathering served as a platform for municipal leaders to collaborate, discuss key policy directions, and push forward reforms that will further empower local government units nationwide.

One of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines’ continuing commitments is the Bayanihan Fund, established to provide timely assistance to municipalities severely affected by natural disasters.

In response to various calamities, including earthquakes and typhoons that have impacted several parts of the country, the League has mobilized resources and extended support to affected municipalities through the leadership of our National President, Mayor Faustino “Inno” Dy V. These interventions reflect the League’s mandate to promote solidarity and coordinated action among local government units.

In the succeeding posts, we will present the relief operations undertaken for the affected municipalities, underscoring how the LMP Bayanihan Fund operationalizes unity and shared responsibility in delivering concrete assistance to local governments.
