In observance of National Disability Rights Week, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board β Regional Franchising and Regulatory Office IV-A (LTFRB RFRO IV-A) conducted terminal and public utility vehicle (PUV) inspections alongside the distribution of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials to transport operators, drivers, and commuters.
The activity aimed to ensure that public utility vehicles remain safe, accessible, and compliant with existing transport regulations while promoting an inclusive and commuter-friendly public transportation system. It also sought to raise awareness on the rights, welfare, and accessibility needs of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and to encourage equal access and non-discriminatory public transport services.
This initiative reflects the national government's commitment to responsive and inclusive governance under the leadership of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. It is implemented under the guidance of Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Atty. Giovanni Z. Lopez, LTFRB Chairman Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II, and the leadership of LTFRB RFRO IV-A Regional Director, PMGEN Rudolph B. Dimas (Ret.).
Through initiatives like this, LTFRB RFRO IV-A remains committed to promoting a safe, accessible, and inclusive public transportation system, ensuring that every commuterβespecially Persons with Disabilitiesβcan travel with dignity, convenience, and equal opportunity.
