𝗖𝗘𝗥𝗧 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗦 | 𝗖𝗔𝗠-𝗖𝗘𝗥𝗧 𝗦𝗨𝗕𝗠𝗜𝗧𝗦 𝗥𝗘𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧 𝗢𝗡 𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗚𝗘 𝗜𝗡 𝗠𝗢𝗦𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗧𝗢 𝗣𝗢𝗣𝗨𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗜𝗘𝗗 𝗠𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗡𝗘

Following a growing number of reports from students regarding an increase in the mosquito population within college premises, the College of Allied Medicine - Campus Emergency Response Team (CAM-CERT) has submitted an official report to bring this alarming concern to the appropriate university offices. The report requests immediate intervention measures to mitigate potential health risks and address any negative impacts on the academic environment of the College of Allied Medicine.

In light of this, the organization urges students and faculty to practice the 𝟰𝗦 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆 to protect themselves against vector-borne illnesses such as dengue fever:

🔍 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐲: Actively look for and eliminate potential mosquito breeding sites, such as standing water in flower vases, discarded containers, and clogged gutters around classrooms and offices.

🛡️ 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Wear proper clothing (long sleeves and pants) and apply mosquito repellent lotion regularly during school hours.

🧑🏻‍⚕️ 𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Do not hesitate to visit the University Health Services or the nearest clinic immediately if experiencing symptoms like sudden fever, severe headaches, or body aches.

⚗️𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐅𝐨𝐠𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 / 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠: Cooperate with university authorities during scheduled misting or fogging operations, especially in hotspot areas, to help reduce adult mosquito populations.

The organization extends its gratitude to the 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴 (𝘜𝘏𝘚) and the 𝘋𝘪𝘴𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘙𝘪𝘴𝘬 𝘙𝘦𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘖𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘦 (𝘋𝘙𝘙𝘔𝘖) for promptly acknowledging this concern. CAM-CERT hopes to work closely with these offices to implement these vital interventions swiftly, ensuring a safe, healthy, and conducive learning environment for the entire CAM community.

𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘢 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵! 🫀🙌

Every second counts, and every heartbeat matters. Sometimes, the difference between life and death lies in the hands of someone willing to act.

In celebration of World Restart a Heart Day 2026, the College of Allied Medicine – Campus Emergency Response Team (CAM-CERT) joins the global movement in raising awareness about the importance of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), emergency preparedness, and the power of immediate action in saving lives.

Cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time. When the heart suddenly stops, immediate bystander CPR can double or even triple a person’s chances of survival. Knowing what to do in those critical moments can make all the difference.

🚨 Remember the C-A-R-E basics:

🅲 – CHECK the scene for safety and assess the person’s responsiveness and breathing.

🅰 – ASK for help! Call 911 and request an AED.

🆁 – RESTART circulation through chest compressions. Push hard and fast at a rate of 100–120 compressions per minute.

🅴 – EMPLOY an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) as soon as it becomes available, following its instructions.

On this World Restart a Heart Day, we are reminded that 𝑺𝒌𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒔 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑺𝒂𝒗𝒆 can give someone another chance at life, 𝑲𝒏𝒐𝒘𝒍𝒆𝒅𝒈𝒆 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑮𝒖𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒔 empowers us to respond when every second counts, and 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒔 inspires us to extend a helping hand when it matters most.

Through these principles, CAM-CERT continues to advocate for CPR awareness and a community that is not only equipped with life-saving skills but also ready and willing to use them. Because saving a life begins with the knowledge to act, the skills to respond, and the compassion to care.
