The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)–Quezon Provincial Office, through Negosyo Center–Infanta, successfully conducted the seminar “Strengthening Marketability: Effective Packaging and Labeling for Infanta Products” on May 21, 2026, at Big Daddy’s Corner, 20 De Julio Street, Brgy. Poblacion 1, Infanta, Quezon.

The activity gathered twenty-nine (29) MSMEs engaged in the food processing industry, along with suppliers from the Infanta Pasalubong Center, to enhance their knowledge and skills in proper packaging and labeling, improve product presentation, and strengthen market competitiveness.

Participants gained valuable insights on FDA labeling requirements, appropriate packaging materials, and effective strategies to boost consumer trust and product marketability.

Through initiatives like this, DTI Quezon and LGU Infanta continue to support and empower local MSMEs toward improved product quality, expanded market opportunities, and sustainable business growth.

DTI Quezon, through Negosyo Center – Quezon, conducts a seminar entitled “Tax Compliance Awareness with BIR RDO 61

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Quezon, through Negosyo Center Quezon, conducted a seminar on Tax Compliance Awareness with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Revenue District Office (RDO) 61 on May 25, 2026, at the Municipal Training Center, Quezon, Quezon. The event was attended by local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

The activity aims to strengthen the participants’ understanding of tax obligations, proper filing procedures, and the latest updates on compliance requirements in accordance with current BIR regulations.

Hon. Briene L. Flores, Chairperson of the Sangguniang Bayan Committee on Trade, Commerce, and Industry, delivers a message of support to the guests and participants. In his message, he emphasized that responsible compliance is essential to business growth and sustainability, and as a business owner himself, urged every attendee to maximize the learning opportunity.

The discussion was led by resource speakers from the BIR, including Mr. Michael Tolentino, Revenue Officer I, who discussed tax registration procedures and requirements; Mr. Emilio Alvares, Revenue Officer II, who tackled due dates and payment channels; and Mr. Sebastian Julio P. Maghirang, Revenue Officer I, who discussed tax audit assessments, the processing of applications for the issuance of Electronic Certificates Authorizing Registration (eCAR), and the enforcement of tax laws, including the imposition of applicable penalties. The Chief of the Collection Section of BIR RDO 61, Mr. Manuel Quebin, was also present at the event and reminded the participants of the dos and don’ts of doing taxes to avoid penalties. Together with the Revenue Officers, he also addressed some questions from participants during the Question-and-Answer portion.

A total of 27 MSMEs attended the event, returning to their business operations with valuable insights and additional knowledge they can rely on in managing their taxes.

Simple Celebration of Adyo Calauag Alimango Festival and Kadiwa ng Pangulo

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Quezon, through Negosyo Center Calauag, joined the simple celebration of the Adyo Calauag Alimango Festival on May 25, 2026, in Calauag, Quezon.

As part of the activity, the Kadiwa ng Pangulo was also conducted from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, providing residents access to affordable products and supporting local producers and entrepreneurs through direct market opportunities.

The activity highlights the continued collaboration of government agencies and stakeholders in promoting local products, supporting livelihoods, and strengthening community-based economic development.

Orientation and Onboarding on SBCorp Loan Programs through the Money App for Market Vendors

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Quezon, through Negosyo Center (NC) Lucban, in collaboration with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Lucban through the Market Administration Office and the Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO), successfully conducted the “Orientation and Onboarding on SBCorp Loan Programs through the MONEY App for Market Vendors” on May 21, 2026, at the BPY Hall, Old Municipal Building, Barangay 8, Lucban, Quezon.

The activity aimed to equip market vendors with essential knowledge of SBCorp loan programs and to provide practical guidance on using the MONEY App to access affordable, formal financing opportunities.

The program formally opened with a welcome message from Ms. Raquel R. Lagrosas, Market Administrator, who emphasized the importance of access to government financing programs for market vendors. This was followed by messages of support from Hon. Marife V. Hari, Municipal Councilor, and Hon. Agustin M. Villaverde, Municipal Mayor, who both expressed the Local Government Unit’s continued support for initiatives that empower local entrepreneurs and strengthen the local business sector.

One of the highlights of the activity was an informative discussion led by Ms. Erika L. Maroon, the Provincial Coordinator of P3. She provided an overview of the available SBCorp loan programs and guided participants in selecting the most suitable financing options for their businesses, while emphasizing the importance of formal financing.

Meanwhile, Mr. Edward S. Orge, P3 CI/Monitoring, provided hands-on assistance and technical guidance on the digital application process, including account creation, onboarding procedures, and loan application submission through the MONEY App. Participants were also successfully assisted in creating their accounts and completing the onboarding process.

The event concluded with a closing message from Mr. Erick Orijuela, BPLO Designate, who encouraged participants to maximize the knowledge gained from the orientation and apply it toward the growth and sustainability of their businesses.
Through this activity, MSMEs gained a better understanding of government financing programs and enhanced their capability to utilize digital platforms for loan applications and financial access.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Quezon, through Negosyo Center (NC) Pagbilao, successfully conducted the seminar “BALANCE: Bookkeeping and Loan Access for Nurturing and Growing Capable Enterprises” on May 14, 2026 at the Senior Citizens Building, Brgy. Mapagong, Pagbilao, Quezon.

The activity gathered 40 MSMEs and aspiring entrepreneurs from various sectors to enhance their knowledge and skills in bookkeeping, financial management, business compliance, and loan access opportunities. The program opened with welcoming remarks and an overview of the activity delivered by DTI NC Pagbilao Business Counselor Rhoderlyn Dianne Imperio, who acknowledged the guests, resource speakers, and participants. This was followed by a message of support from the Municipal Mayor of Pagbilao, Quezon, Hon. Angelica G. Portes.

Participants gained valuable insights from resource speakers Mr. Edward Orge of SB Corp Southern Luzon Group, who discussed SB Corp loan programs and digital loan application through the SB Corp Money App, and Mr. Gene Emil De La Cruz, who discussed basic bookkeeping principles and proper recording of business transactions. A hands-on bookkeeping activity was also conducted to help participants apply the lessons learned.

The seminar also featured presentations on DTI programs and services, an open forum, and on-site financial inclusion activities with Banko Direct.

Through this initiative, DTI Quezon continues to empower MSMEs by promoting financial literacy, business sustainability, and greater access to government support programs.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Quezon, through the Negosyo Center Alabat, joins Zeyen Farm School and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in evaluating Agro-entrepreneurship Program NC II learners during their product presentation held on May 3, 2026 at KALAHI Building, Brgy. 3 Poblacion, Alabat.

As one of the panelists, Victoria T. Gonzales, Business Counselor of Negosyo Center Alabat, carefully evaluated the smoked bangus, lipote jam, herbabuena (Clinopodium douglasii) tea and crayfish crackers based on food safety standards, physical presentation, business plans, market potential, sustainability, environmental impact, mandatory product labeling and packaging requirements to ensure compliance and competitiveness in the market.

Through this collaboration, DTI Quezon and TESDA reaffirmed their shared commitment to empowering future micro-entrepreneurs by equipping them with essential knowledge.

This initiative not only strengthens entrepreneurial capacity but also complements Alabat Island’s growing reputation as an emerging destination for local and foreign tourists.

Coconut Farmers Cooperatives (CFCs) and Coconut MSMEs visits the Likhang Filipino Exhibition Halls on May 22, 2026 at Pasay, City, Philippines.

As part of the Market Exposure Activity for Coconut Food CFCs and MSMEs under the CFIDP Product Enhancement Program, participants had the opportunity to visit the Likha ng Filipino Exhibition Halls.

The visit provided participants with insights into a wide range of locally produced and locally crafted goods showcased in the exhibits.

This learning opportunity served as inspiration for product enhancement, packaging improvement, and branding innovations that the participating CFCs and MSMEs may adopt to further improve and develop their own coconut-based products.

May 19, 2026 – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) - Quezon, through Negosyo Center (NC) Agdangan, in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Agdangan and the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), successfully conducted the “Strengthening Cash Handling and Basic Recordkeeping Practices for Agdangan MSMEs” training at the Municipal Evacuation Center, Barangay Poblacion 1, Agdangan, Quezon.

The training was conducted to enhance the knowledge and skills of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in proper cash handling and basic recordkeeping practices to support efficient business operations and financial management. It also aimed to help participants understand the importance of accurate recording of daily transactions, proper monitoring of cash flow, and maintaining organized financial records as essential tools in making informed business decisions, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring the sustainability and growth of their enterprises.

The activity formally opened through the welcome remarks and opening message delivered by Ms. Grace A. Latoza, SLP Focal Person, who emphasized the importance of financial literacy and proper recordkeeping practices in strengthening MSME operations and sustainability.

Highlighting the event was the Resource Speaker Session featuring Ms. Jenny L. Llano, Assistant Professorial II from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Unisan Branch, who shared valuable insights and practical strategies on effective cash management, proper handling of business finances, and maintaining accurate records for MSMEs.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Quezon, through Negosyo Center-Macalelon, conducted an activity entitled “(HANDA) Holistic Approach to Nurturing Disaster-Adoptive MSMEs: A Seminar on Business Continuity Planning” on May 21, 2026 at Rigcavince Resort, Brgy. Nag-Cruz, Pitogo, Quezon.

The activity gathers Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from the municipalities of Pitogo, Macalelon, and General Luna, Quezon to strengthen disaster preparedness, resilience, and sustainability of local businesses amid unforeseen disruptions and calamities. Through this initiative, participating MSMEs are equipped with practical strategies on Business Continuity Planning (BCP) to help minimize operational interruptions and sustain business operations during emergencies.

The discussion is facilitated by Mr. Keanu Austin R. Rairata, Trade-Industry Development Specialist of DTI-Quezon, who shares valuable insights on the importance of preparedness in ensuring the long-term viability and competitiveness of MSMEs.

The event is also graced by representatives from the three municipalities: Mr. Ruel Lardizabal, Designated Local Economic and Investment Promotions Officer; Ms. Criseda L.
