MAASIN FIRE STATION HISTORY
On November 2009 Maasin Fire Station was established with retired SFO4 Glenn D Pineda as the first Officer-In-Charge with One (1) Non Commissioned Officer and One (1) Fire Volunteer. It was also in the same date that Anos Fire Truck was turned over by SSUPT MA SOFIA B MENDOZA as the Regional Director of that year. As the years go by additional personnel had been assi
gned to the station making a usual strength of seven (7). Maasin Fire Station had been serving the municipality of Maasin in terms of Fire Prevention and Fire Suppression. It has intensified Fire safety education to fifty (50) barangays , thirty eight (38) schools and other establishments. Considering its demographic location , grass fire is the prevailing fire incident . For years, the station intensified its Fire Prevention Campaign through Fire Safety lectures, Fire Exit Drills, Fire Safety Inspections, Ugnayan sa Barangay, distribution of fire safety materials and posters and the likes. In 2018, SFO4 Pineda commenced its Light Duty Status in the month of May and formally retired on September of the same year . He had been supervising Maasin Fire Station for nine (9) years. He was replaced by INSP RONNIE A MALIJAN who had led the office for a very short time when SFO4 Andy L Pablico took office for a year. SFO4 Andy L Pablico was replaced by SFO4 Richard I Ladrido on July 2019 with seven (7) Junior Non-Commissioned Officers under his command. SFO4 Ladrido initiated the lot donation for Maasin Fire Station but it was not materialized. He was replaced by SFO4 Jory L Biliran last December 29, 2020 and was reassigned at Iloilo Provincial Office and formally retired last April 29, 2021. SFO4 Jory L Biliran took over the office last Dec. 29, 2021 and was replaced by SFO4 Jose D Sorianosos last February 5, 2023. SFO4 Sorianosos created the highlights of this year’s fire prevention through fire safety lectures and drill to different schools and occupancies, open house and the first Inter barangay Fire Olympics. Currently SFO2 Ronald J Magarzo is the Acting Municipal Fire Marshal of this Station who took office last April 25, 2023 and had recently held the First Supplemental Basic Skill Responders Training to 15 Barangays. Maasin Fire Station is continuing its mission to commit and prevent destructive fires, investigate its causes, enforce fire code and other related laws, and respond to man-made and natural disasters and other emergencies.
