Extended Purok Kalusugan (PK) Launching of new PK sites in the Municipality of Hinunangan | March 11, 2026.

What is Purokalusugan?

- The PuroKalusugan is a program by the Department of Health (DOH) aimed at delivering essential healthcare services directly to residents of “puroks” or barangay zones nationwide. Providing essential healthcare services to Filipinos, particularly those in remote and underserved areas.

The Municipality of Hinunangan, in active collaboration with the Department of Health (DOH), Punong Barangays, BHWs, BNS, RHU Staff and the stakeholders, successfully launched "Purokalusugan" program at Hinunangan Municipal Cultural Center Gym, Hinunangan Southern Leyte.

Key Healthcare Services Offered during the activity are as follows:

🩺Medical Consultation with Free Medicines
🩺Immunization
🩺Family Planning
🩺Nutrition
🩺Non- Communicable Diseases (RBS, BP taking, HPN&DM maintenance distribution)
🩺Distribution of Medicines

The Provincial DOH Office of Southern Leyte through Mr. John Paul Roca, Officer in Charge of PDOH Office Southern Leyte together with Vanessa Napuli and Carl Ramirez, Development Management Officers, attended the said launching with the key message of delivering localized, accessible, and comprehensive primary health services directly to households, particularly in underserved communities.

Highlights of the Launching is the commitment of the LGU Hinunangan, the Barangay Health Board and the stakeholders through their taking oath and signing their pledge of commitment to support PuroKalusugan Implementation in their respective barangays.

This is truly a commitment of the PDOHO Southern Leyte in collaboration with LGU Hinunangan in ensuring that
"Bawat Pilipino ramdam ang kalusugan, dahil sa bagong pilipinas, bawat buhay ay mahalaga".
