ππππππππππ πππππ ππππππ πππ ππππππ (πππππ) TRAINING OF MDDRMO MAHINOG
In response to the request of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Mahinog, the Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Mahinog, headed by LTJG CARLO A. ORTIZO, PCG, successfully facilitated the Water Search and Rescue (WASAR) Training for the Municipal Response Team on 22 July 2026 at the Lagoon, Brgy. Benoni, Mahinog, Camiguin, in preparation for the Provincial-Level Culmination Activities of the National Disaster Resilience Month 2026.
The said training consisted of rubber boat capsizing drills, rescue swimming, and other practical WASAR exercises, designed to enhance the participantsβ technical knowledge, water rescue skills, operational readiness, emergency response capabilities and team coordination. Through hands-on instruction and technical guidance from PCG personnel, the Municipal Response Team further strengthened its ability to respond efficiently and safely to water-related emergencies.
This initiative underscores the Philippine Coast Guardβs commitment to developing competent first responders and promoting disaster preparedness through continuous capability enhancement. It also reflects the importance of strong inter-agency collaboration among the Philippine Coast Guard, MDRRMO Mahinog, and the Local Government Unit of Mahinog in building a well-trained, coordinated, and highly responsive rescue force capable of protecting lives and ensuring public safety.
