As part of the competency-based training, twenty-five (25) Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) are currently engaged in the fabrication of wooden cabinets, where they perform measuring, cutting, assembling, and finishing of cabinet components using appropriate carpentry tools and techniques under the guidance of MBHTE-TESD trainers and the supervision of jail personnel.

The hands-on activity strengthens the participantsโ€™ technical skills, craftsmanship, discipline, and teamwork while providing them with practical experience in carpentry. Through this initiative, Malabang District Jail reaffirms its commitment to delivering meaningful rehabilitation programs that equip PDLs with employable skills and help prepare them for productive and responsible reintegration into the community.

As part of their hands-on training, the trainees began the construction of the facilityโ€™s kitchen area through practical masonry activities designed to develop their technical skills and workmanship.

Guided by MBHTE-TESD trainers and closely supervised by duty personnel, the PDL trainees performed hollow block laying, wall alignment, and leveling using standard masonry tools and construction techniques. The activity further strengthened their practical competencies, discipline, and teamwork while preparing them for future livelihood opportunities upon reintegration into the community.

๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š | Malabang District Jail, under the leadership of Acting Jail Warden ๐’๐‰๐Ž๐Ÿ ๐€๐›๐๐ฎ๐ฅ ๐๐š๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐Ÿ ๐’ ๐Œ๐š๐ฆ๐š๐, in partnership with MBHTE-TESD Lanao del Sur Provincial Office, officially commenced Day 1 of the Carpentry NC II and Masonry NC II training for 50 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs).

The training aims to equip PDLs with technical-vocational skills and practical learning opportunities that will enhance their employability and support their successful rehabilitation and reintegration into society, fostering hope for a better future.
