In addition to the treatment and counseling offered by the established Balay Silangan Reformation Centers (BSRCs) for People Who Used Drugs (PWUDs), BSRCs also provide livelihood assistance seminars to the drug surrenderers to assist them in their reintegration.

From July 2022 to May 2023, 1,590 drug reformists have graduated from BSRCs nationwide and 314 of these graduates are now currently employed. Some of the graduates now work for their local government as advocates for Anti-Drug Abuse Programs of their respective areas.

As of May 31, 2023, BSRCs are catering to 1,426 clients nationwide.

The Dangerous Drugs Board strongly supports the holistic and balanced anti-drug campaign which is focused on strengthening programs on prevention education, treatment and rehabilitation, and reintegration.

DDB Board Regulation No. 2 Series of 2018 laid out the guidelines for the community-based reformation program "Balay Silangan" which aimed to build temporary shelters to be used in rehabilitating drug surrenderees across the country.

From July 2022 to May 2023, an additional 102 Balay Silangan Reformation Centers (BSRCs) have been established and inaugurated nationwide, bringing the total number of BSRCs to 471.

The Dangerous Drugs Board, through DDB Board Regulation No. 2 Series of 2022, authorized the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) to operate jail-based drug reformation programs for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL).

Section 2 of the regulation states that the BJMP may operate jail-based reformation program called "Kanlungan sa Piitan" within the confines of its facilities whereas Section 3 states that it covers PDLs ordered by the courts to undergo six months of rehabilitation provided that the concerned PDL;

a) have been subjected to Drug Dependency Examination (DDE) by an accredited Department of Health physician wherein he/she is found to be a non-user or with "MILD" dependence.

b) has no other pending criminal cases or other unserved penalties
