Fifty-five new agents (41 males and 14 females) of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) formally joined the frontline of the country’s anti-drug campaign after graduating today, Tuesday, May 12, 2026, during the 22nd Commencement Exercises of the Drug Enforcement Officers Basic Course (DEOBC) Class 2025-22 β€œSALIGLAWIN” held at the PDEA Gymnasium, National Headquarters in Quezon City.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Isagani R Nerez hailed the graduating class as a new generation of disciplined and highly trained officers committed to safeguarding communities from the threat of illegal drugs.

β€œYou are the first graduating class under my leadership, and I take immense pride in your achievement,” the Director General said. β€œAs you enter the service, you carry not only the authority of the badge but the responsibility to uphold integrity, professionalism, and unwavering dedication in our fight against illegal drugs. The nation now looks to you as defenders of our communities and champions of a safer future.”

β€œSALIGLAWIN,” the class name, stands for β€œSinanay at Pinagkakatiwalaan na mga Ahenteng may Mithiing Iligtas at Layuning Wakasan ang Epekto ng Iligal na Droga para sa Ligtas at Maunlad na Komunidad.” It reflects the graduates’ shared mission to protect lives and contribute to nation-building.

The members of Class SALIGLAWIN received their diplomas, PDEA Agent badges, and service fi****ms from the Guest of Honor and Speaker and Chairman of the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) Secretary Oscar F Valenzuela, the Director General and members of the Command Group, marking their formal transition into full-fledged drug enforcement officers.

The graduates underwent six months of intensive training that equipped them with the competencies required to enforce Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, including intelligence operations, law enforcement procedures, fi****ms proficiency, and physical conditioning.

β€œFrom an initial 65 trainees who took their oath in October 2025, only 55 completed the demanding 200-day training program. Their perseverance and discipline reflect the caliber of officers PDEA needs in addressing the evolving drug situation in the country.” DG Nerez added.

During the ceremony, outstanding graduates were recognized for excellence in various aspects of training. Awards included the Director General’s Award, Deputy Director General for Administration’s Award, and Deputy Director General for Operations’ Award for top overall performance; as well as the Superintendent’s Award, Leadership Award, Top Shot Awards for pistol and rifle marksmanship, and the Physical Fitness Proficiency Award.

An awarding ceremony was also held to honor the most outstanding internal and external Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) who contributed to the training of the class.

Upon graduation, the new agents will assume permanent plantilla positions with the entry rank of Intelligence Officer I. They will be deployed in the frontlines to strengthen the Agency’s operational capabilities and intensify efforts against illegal drugs.

β€œYour mission begins today,” the PDEA Chief stressed. β€œGo forth with courage, serve with honor, and remain steadfast in your commitment to the Filipino people.”

Public service is ultimately measured by the experience of the people it serves. In 2025, this principle was reflected in the results of the Harmonized Client Satisfaction Measurement, conducted in line with Republic Act No. 11032 and the standards set by the Anti-Red Tape Authority.

The Dangerous Drugs Board Secretariat obtained an overall client satisfaction rating of 99.7 percent for Fiscal Year 2025, equivalent to an β€œOutstanding” assessment under the national scale.

This result reflects how clients, partner institutions, and stakeholders experience government service in practice, shaped by efficiency, professionalism, and responsiveness. It also indicates that service delivery mechanisms are functioning as intended, with procedures that are understood, timelines that are met, and points of contact that remain reliable across transactions.

The 2025 Client Satisfaction Measurement Report has been submitted to the DDB CART Chairperson - Secretary Oscar Valenzuela and will be endorsed to the Anti-Red Tape Authority in accordance with national requirements. This serves as a firm basis for sustaining service standards and ensuring that improvements continue to translate into consistent and dependable public service.
