Drug Awareness Symposium at Philippine College Foundation
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Bukidnon conducted a Drug Awareness Symposium at the Philippine College Foundation (PCF) in Valencia City, Bukidnon. The activity aimed to strengthen studentsโ understanding of the dangers of illegal drugs and empower them to make responsible, informed, and positive choices.
The symposium focused on drug identification, including commonly abused and illegal substances, their forms, and the serious risks they pose to health and well-being. It also highlighted the harmful physical, psychological, social, and long-term effects of drug abuse, particularly its impact on studentsโ education, relationships, and future aspirations.
The participants were also provided with an overview of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, including its relevant provisions, prohibited acts, and the legal consequences associated with illegal drugs. The discussion further emphasized the importance of prevention and responsible decision-making by encouraging students to resist negative influences, make informed choices, and pursue positive opportunities that support a healthy and productive life.
The activity underscored the vital role of education and awareness in preventing drug abuse. By equipping the youth with accurate information and positive values, we help them understand that every decision they make today can shape the future they aspire to achieve.
To the students of Philippine College Foundation: Your future is worth protecting. Choose wisely, stay informed, and be a positive influence in your community.
Together, let us continue building a safe, healthy, responsible, and drug-free generation.
