Mayor Jonkie Ouano gives 1M aide for the earthquake victims in the north!

MANDAUE TO GIVE P1M AID TO 5 QUAKE HIT AREAS

JUST IN: Mandaue City Mayor Thadeo Jovito “Jonkie” Ouano announced the city's plan to provide P1 million in cash assistance to five northern Cebu areas most affected by the 6.9-magnitude earthquake that struck on September 30. Based on a situational report, these are Bogo City — the epicenter — along with the towns of San Remigio, Medellin, Tabogon, and Borbon.

"Our own little way of helping sa atoang mga kaigsuunan diri sa Sugbo," said Ouano.

Aside from the financial assistance, the city government is also sending a psychological team to provide quake victims with mental health and social support.

Early Wednesday morning, the Mandaue-Humanitarian Emergency Assistance Response Team (M-HEART) was deployed to Bogo City. | Mary Rose Sagarino

Mandaue CDRRMO, together with the Emergency Response Teams of Barangay Banilad, Barangay Subangdaku and Mandaue City Fire Station retrieved the body of a man who went missing after he accidentally fell into a creek in Barangay Banilad last night.
