PNP NABS FOREIGN NATIONAL IN BATANGAS CYBERSEX DEN; 7 TRAFFICKING VICTIMS RESCUED

A focused late-night police operation in Batangas has dismantled an online exploitation hub and freed young women from digital abuse, underscoring the Philippine National Policeโ€™s firm stand against cyber-enabled trafficking.

Under the leadership of PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., the PNP intensified its anti-cybercrime drive that led to the arrest of a foreign national and the rescue of seven trafficking victims in a single, well-executed operation.

On January 30, 2026, at around 10:00 PM in Nasugbu, Batangas, operatives of the Southern District Anti-Cybercrime Team implemented a Warrant to Search, Seize, and Examine Computer Data (WSSECD) against a suspected cybersex den. The operation resulted in the arrest of a 27-year-old male American national for facilitating online sexual exploitation, and the rescue of seven female victims who were trafficked and exploited through live-streamed cybersex activities. Digital devices used in the illegal operation were confiscated at the scene and are now undergoing forensic examination.

The arrested foreign national is facing charges for violations of Republic Act No. 9208 (Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003), as amended by RA No. 10364 and further amended by RA No. 11862, in relation to Section 6 of RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012). Authorities noted that the case highlights the evolving nature of trafficking crimes, where abuse is carried out through online platforms while victims are physically hidden within local communities.

This successful operation reflects the PNP Focused Agendaโ€”a clear framework of transformation designed to make police service responsive and trustworthy. Among its key priorities, Enhanced Managing Police Operations stands out in this case, as it emphasizes intelligence-driven actions, lawful cyber operations, and the protection of vulnerable individuals against technology-facilitated crimes.

PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. stressed the seriousness of the offense and the responsibility of law enforcement to protect victims from online abuse.

โ€œCyber-enabled trafficking is a grave crime that preys on vulnerability and hides behind technology, but the PNP will continue to pursue offenders wherever they operateโ€”online or on the ground. Hindi natin hahayaang gamitin ang teknolohiya para sirain ang dangal at kinabukasan ng ating mga kababayan.โ€

In a separate statement, PGEN Nartatez Jr. emphasized the importance of victim rescue and case build-up.

โ€œOur priority is always the safety of the victims and the strength of the case we file in court, ensuring accountability under the law. Mahalaga na ang mga biktima ay mailigtas, mapangalagaan, at mabigyan ng hustisya.โ€

As the PNP sustains its campaign against cybercrime and human trafficking through lawful, intelligence-based operations under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., it continues to assure the public of โ€œBagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong mabilis, tapat, at nararamdaman.โ€

The Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP ACG) continues to intensify its campaign against Photo and Video Voyeurism through sustained nationwide operations, resulting in significant operational accomplishments during the first five months of 2026.โฃ
โฃ
From January to May 2026, the PNP ACG conducted a total of 35 Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism operations across the country, leading to the arrest of 27 individuals involved in the unauthorized recording, possession, sharing, and distribution of intimate photos and videos.โฃ
โฃ
The operations also resulted in the rescue of six Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL) and one victim, highlighting the PNP ACGโ€™s commitment not only to apprehending offenders but also to protecting vulnerable individuals affected by cyber-enabled crimes.โฃ
โฃ
These successful operations were carried out through the coordinated efforts of the PNP ACGโ€™s Special Operation Units (SOUs), Regional Anti-Cybercrime Units (RACUs), Satellite Offices, Provincial and City Cyber Response Teams (P/CCRTs), and District Anti-Cybercrime Teams, in close coordination with local police units.โฃ
โฃ
The arrests stemmed from various complaints against individuals involved in the production, possession, dissemination, and exploitation of intimate and private content without the consent of the persons involved. โฃ
โฃ
Investigation of the cases revealed that most offenders were personally acquainted with the victims, with the offenses commonly motivated by revenge, harassment, coercion, personal gain, or other malicious purposes.โฃ
โฃ
The PNP ACG emphasized that Photo and Video Voyeurism is a serious offense punishable under RA No. 9995 (Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009), which protects the privacy and dignity of individuals against the unauthorized recording, reproduction, sharing, and distribution of intimate images and videos.โฃ
โฃ
These accomplishments support the directives of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief of the PNP, under the Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) framework of the PNP Focused Agenda, which promotes intelligence-driven, technology-enabled, and responsive policing strategies in addressing emerging threats in cyberspace.โฃ
โฃ
Police Major General Wilson C. Asueta, Director of the PNP ACG, reiterated the Group's commitment to safeguarding cyberspace and protecting the public from online exploitation. "These accomplishments reflect our unwavering resolve to pursue individuals who violate the privacy and dignity of others through technology. We encourage victims and concerned citizens to immediately report incidents of photo and video voyeurism so that appropriate legal action can be taken and victims can receive the necessary assistance," PMGEN Asueta said.โฃ
