Citing policy reforms, Ambassador urges Chinese investors to seize opportunities in PH
18 May 2026, Beijing - Ambassador Jaime FlorCruz urged Chinese enterprises to seize investment opportunities in the Philippines, citing recent policy reforms aimed at significantly improving the ease of doing business in the country.
The Philippine Ambassador made the pitch at the Beijing session of the Philippine Investment Roadshow on 15 May 2026. He emphasized the robust and bright business outlook in the Philippines.
The event concluded with the signing of three (3) cooperation agreements, including agreements relating to two-way investment services, economic zone cooperation, industrial resource matchmaking, and cross-border enterprise support between Philippine and Chinese entities.
Hosted by Geo Group, in cooperation with the RCEP Alliance Philippines and the Philippine Trade and Investment Center-Beijing, the event highlighted strengthening economic ties and a shared vision for sustainable growth.
The event brought together representatives from several Philippine institutions, Chinese enterprises, and business organizations to present a unified front to Chinese investors, positioning the Philippines as a premier hub for smart, sustainable manufacturing and green technological advancement.
Participants included Philippine Climate Change Commissioner Albert Dela Cruz and Iloilo City Vice Mayor Lady Julie Grace Baronda. (30)
