Since its inception in 2017, SAAD has made transformative changes in advancing the welfare of the most marginalized farmers and fishers in select โ€œspecial areasโ€ across 30 provinces in the country. From providing food on every Filipino table, SAAD Phase 2โ€™s main objective is to develop its beneficiaries from producers to agri-entrepreneurs through the adoption of updated farming/fishing practices and technologies; incorporation of product development and value addition through processing, and introduction of sustainability concepts through marketing activities.

Napuno ng saya at naging mas kapaki-pakinabang ang isang ordinaryong araw para sa 150 mag-aaral at g**o ng Capacuan Integrated School sa Capacuan, Santa Praxedes, Cagayan matapos isagawa ng Cabaleng San Isidro Farmers Agriculture Cooperative (CASIFA-Coop) ang isang Feeding Program bilang bahagi ng kanilang Community Service noong Agosto 19, 2026.

Nagtulungan ang mga miyembro sa paggawa ng miki noodles na ipinamahagi nila sa mga mag-aaral at g**o. Isinabay na rin nila ang product promotion ng kanilang chili oil na pwedeng ihalo sa kanilang masustansyang meryenda. Bukod sa pagbibida sa mga pamilihan, unti-unti na ring ipinapakilala ang mga produktong SAAD sa mas maraming potential buyers.

Hindi lamang ang mga estudyante ang natuwa, nabigyang-buhay din ang bakuran ng paaralan matapos itong tamnan ng sampung (10) Sweet Abulug Pomelo seedlings na ipinagkaloob ng SAAD Cagayan Valley.

Habang patuloy na tinutulungan at sinusuportahan ng SAAD Cagayan Valley ang CASIFA-Coop, nananatili naman ang kagustuhan ng mga miyembro na makatulong din sa kanilang komunidad sa sarili nilang paraan.

From 2023 to 2025, the Department of Agriculture โ€“ Special Area for Agricultural Development (DA-SAAD) in Caraga Region provided agricultural and livelihood support to farmers and fisherfolk in priority communities, expanding their access to productive resources, livelihood opportunities, and capacity-building interventions.

By 2025, the program recorded 710 cumulative beneficiaries, achieving 99.4 percent of its three-year target of 714 beneficiaries. While the accomplishment fell four beneficiaries short of the target, the result reflects the programโ€™s continued efforts to reach farmers and fisherfolk in priority communities across the region.

The program recorded 747 beneficiaries in 2023, followed by 712 in 2024, and 710 in 2025. These figures reflect the programโ€™s continuing implementation of agricultural production, livelihood, and capacity-building interventions for identified beneficiaries.

Through these interventions, farmer and fisherfolk associations were provided with opportunities to strengthen their production activities, develop livelihood sources, and enhance their organizational capabilities. The assistance also supported rural communities in sustaining their economic activities and responding to challenges in the agriculture and fisheries sectors.

With a 99.4 percent accomplishment rate in 2025, DA-SAAD Caraga continued to broaden access to agricultural assistance and support the development of productive and resilient farming and fishing communities across the region.

| Tilanggit at Tilapia Kropek, produktong gawa ng mga kababaihan ng Binanogan

Naghahanap ka ba ng malinamnam na pasalubong o pang-ulam? Subukan ang mga produktong gawa ng Binanogan Farmers and Fisherfolk Association sa Valderrama, Antique!

Gawa sa tilapia at pinatuyo para sa mas matagal na pag-iimbak, ang Tilanggit ay isa sa mga patok na produkto ng samahan. Sa kanilang paglahok sa Nutrition Month Celebration sa Valderrama nitong Agosto, agad na naubos ang kanilang Tilanggit, patunay ng patuloy na pagtangkilik ng mga lokal sa produktong isda na kakaunti lamang ang nagbebenta sa kanilang lugar.

Para naman sa mas bagong produkto, tampok ang Tilapia Kropek, na dumaan sa ilang buwang product development bago ilunsad ng samahan.

Sa ngayon, available ang Tilapia Kropek sa Original at Cheese flavors, habang pinag-aaralan ng samahan ang pagdagdag ng Sour Cream at Spicy para mas marami pang panlasa ang mapagpilian ng kanilang mga mamimili.

Sa isang product display noong Nutrition Month Celebration, nakapagtala ang samahan ng Php1,475 na kabuuang benta mula sa kanilang mga ipinakitang produkto.

Para sa presyo, availability, at orders, maaaring makipag-ugnayan sa Binanogan Farmers and Fisherfolk Association sa Brgy. Binanogan, Valderrama, Antique, o sa mga kinauukulang BFAR-SAAD implementers sa lugar.
