For Founder and CEO Gabriel Anton Angeles, to tackle a challenge is to “fall in love with the problem.”

Like Gabriel, many Filipinos are left wandering or get lost inside big malls or buildings. Relying on vague signposts or inaccurate directions, they most likely fail to find the shops or restaurants they want to visit. This problem continues to grow as malls and many urban spaces continue to thrive in the metropolis.

Understanding these frustrations and leveraging his experience in the fintech sector, Gabriel developed Duon Wayfinding—the Philippines’ only indoor navigation platform.

Already live and operational, the platform helped users discover shops nearly 30% faster, generating 15% more sales for brand partners.

A beneficiary of DOST TAPI’s TECHNICOM and SPICE programs, Duon Wayfinding recently took the global stage as one of the top 10 finalists of the Supernova Pitch Competition at the GITEX AI Asia Singapore 2026.

As the Philippines’ only indoor navigation platform, Duon Wayfinding turns an overlooked frustration into a seamless experience for many urban explorers and business owners.

With support from DOST TAPI’s SPICE Program, Duon Wayfinding made its international debut at the GITEX AI Asia Singapore 2026, landing a spot as one of the top 10 finalists during the Supernova Pitch Competition.

The Department of Science and Technology - Technology Application and Promotion Institute conducted the PADAGHANG WACAS event on October 17, 2025 at the Acacia Hotel Manila.

This week-long celebration and culminating activity for the PADAGHAN Special Project served as a platform to highlight the project’s strategic efforts in enhancing DOST’s science communication through tailored public relations and marketing, with a specific focus on gaining a foothold in international exhibitions.

Project PADAGHAN is the DOST-TAPI's latest initiative that puts Filipino technology on the global map. The project is named after the Cebuano word for "to add/improve". Debuted at CES 2025, it used public relations campaigns to help DOST-supported innovations overcome publicity hurdles and establish key international partnerships.
