HAPPY 128TH INDEPENDENCE DAY, PHILIPPINES! 🇵🇭

On behalf of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Philippines Zone Inc., I extend my warmest congratulations and heartfelt best wishes to the Government and people of the Republic of the Philippines as you celebrate 128 years of independence, freedom, and nationhood.

Today, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and patriotism of the Filipino heroes whose unwavering commitment to liberty laid the foundation for the prosperous and vibrant nation that the Philippines is today. Their legacy continues to inspire generations to uphold the values of unity, resilience, justice, and national pride.

As Nigerian students residing in the Philippines, we are deeply grateful for the love, hospitality, and kindness we have received from the Filipino people. The Philippines has become more than a host country to us—it has become a second home.

On this special occasion, I sincerely appreciate our Filipino friends, classmates, schoolmates, teachers, instructors, lecturers, landlords, landladies, neighbors, and every member of the Filipino community who has contributed positively to our academic journey and daily lives. Your generosity, friendship, guidance, and support have made our stay in the Philippines memorable and meaningful.

The strong bonds of friendship between Nigerians and Filipinos continue to demonstrate that humanity, mutual respect, and cultural understanding can unite people beyond borders, races, and nationalities.

As the Philippines marks this remarkable milestone of 128 years of independence, may the nation continue to flourish in peace, progress, unity, and prosperity. May the Filipino spirit of resilience and hope continue to shine as a beacon of inspiration to the world.

To all Filipinos at home and abroad, we celebrate with you today and wish you a joyful and memorable Independence Day.

International Students Cultural Event held on the 6th day of May, 2026 at Batangas State University

The president of NANS Philippines ZONE — Comrade BKC was in attendance to celebrate the cultural heritage of Nigerian Students.

The President delivered an address with the topic: The Strength of Cultural Identity In a Global Community. He talked about cultural diversity and the need to embrace and respect the cultures of the Philippines inclusively, to promote peace, harmony and unity in diversity.

He said, "diversity should never divide us. Instead, it should unite us and strengthen our global community."

Let cultures be respected, honoured and cherished as part of our identity for the goodwill of all.

I am pleased to inform you that the CEO of PINELEAF ESTATE & PROPERTIES LTD, His Grace, Archbishop Dr. Onyeka Joseph Nzekwesi (CHINAKARIBEYA), has fulfilled the generous promise of One Hundred Thousand Philippine Pesos (₱100,000), equivalent to approximately Two Million Three Hundred Thousand Naira (₦2,300,000), made to NANS Philippines Zone Inc. on Sunday, 3rd May 2026.

As we step into this new month of May, I extend my heartfelt wishes of progress, peace, and renewed strength to every one of you. May this month bring fresh opportunities, academic success, and personal growth.

I want to assure you that under my leadership as President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Philippines Zone Inc., every challenge faced by our students in the Philippines will be addressed with sincerity and determination.

We have already met and dialogued with the Nigerian Embassy, and together we are working to ensure that the welfare, rights, and concerns of Nigerian students are given the attention they deserve. This administration stands firm on the pillars of unity, transparency, and progress.
