SHAPING A STRONGER INVESTMENT FUTURE FOR LANAO DEL SUR

The Lanao del Sur Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office (LEDIPO) successfully conducted the Writeshop on the Ranaw Investments and Incentives Code (RIIC) on August 5–6, 2026 at RAIFA Hall, Ranaw Business Hotel, Marawi City.

The two-day activity brought together representatives from national and regional government agencies, partner institutions, and key stakeholders to collaboratively review, refine, and strengthen the proposed RIIC. The writeshop opened with an overview of the draft code, its objectives, and its alignment with the province's long-term development vision, setting the stage for productive discussions throughout the activity.

On the first day, technical experts from the Department of Trade and Industry–Board of Investments (DTI-BOI), the Ministry of Trade, Investments and Tourism–Bureau of Investments (MTIT-BoI), the Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF-BARMM), and Bataan PPP shared valuable insights on investment promotion, fiscal sustainability, and public-private partnerships. Each presentation was followed by interactive panel discussions, allowing participants to exchange ideas and gather technical recommendations to further strengthen the proposed code.

On the second day, participants reconvened in their respective technical, economic, and sectoral clusters to present their proposed amendments and recommendations. This was followed by a comprehensive review of the updated draft and joint discussions with the resource persons to ensure that the proposed code is aligned with regional priorities, structurally sound, and responsive to the province's investment and development goals. The activity also included a discussion on the timeline and next steps toward the official enactment of the RIIC before concluding with the awarding of certificates to the resource persons, and participants.

Through collaboration, technical expertise, and meaningful dialogue, the RIIC Writeshop marks another significant milestone in the Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur's commitment to fostering an enabling environment for investments, promoting inclusive economic growth, and creating sustainable opportunities for the province and its people.

A New Chapter for Investment and Economic Development in Lanao del Sur

Tomorrow marks the beginning of an important milestone as the Lanao del Sur Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office (LEDIPO), in collaboration with partner line agencies and key stakeholders, will convene for the Writeshop on the Ranaw Investments and Incentives Code (RIIC).

The RIIC is envisioned as a comprehensive local investment code that will establish policies and incentives to attract responsible investments, encourage business growth, create employment opportunities, and promote sustainable and inclusive economic development throughout Lanao del Sur.

This initiative is made possible through the steadfast support and leadership of Provincial Governor Mamintal "Bombit" Alonto Adiong Jr. and Vice Governor Mohammad Khalid "Mujam" Raki-in Adiong, whose commitment to advancing economic development continues to pave the way for a more competitive and investment-ready province.

As we take this significant step toward crafting the RIIC, we invite everyone to follow this page for updates and highlights throughout the writeshop.
