As we officially close the month-long celebration of the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) 2026, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of San Jacinto extends its deepest gratitude to everyone who became part of this meaningful journey.

From every training, orientation, coordination meeting, caravan, ceremonial turnover, inter-agency activity, and culminating event, we witnessed the power of collaboration and our shared commitment to building a safer, more resilient San Jacinto.

Yesterday's Culminating Activity was not only a celebration of what we accomplished throughout the month—it was a testament to what can be achieved when government agencies, schools, organizations, volunteers, and the community work together toward one common goal: protecting lives and strengthening resilience.

As part of the Municipality of San Jacinto's observance of National Disaster Resilience Month 2026, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) successfully conducted the Inter-Agency Learning Stations, bringing together government agencies to promote disaster preparedness, public safety, environmental stewardship, and community resilience among the youth.

Students from San Jacinto National High School and Liceo de San Jacinto High School actively participated in the interactive learning sessions facilitated by our partner agencies:

🚒 BFP San Jacinto – Fire Safety and Fire Prevention Awareness
🚤 Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) – Water Safety and Maritime Awareness

Through these learning stations, students gained practical knowledge and a deeper appreciation of the vital roles played by each agency in protecting lives, safeguarding the environment, and building resilient communities.

As part of the Municipality of San Jacinto's observance of National Disaster Resilience Month 2026, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) successfully distributed Go Bags to the 21 Barangay RDANA and PDNA Teams.

These Go Bags are intended to support our barangay responders in conducting Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis (RDANA) and Post-Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA), ensuring they are equipped with the essential tools needed to perform timely, organized, and efficient post-disaster assessments.

Prepared responders lead to faster assessments. Faster assessments lead to quicker response, relief, and recovery.

This initiative reflects the Municipality's continuing commitment to strengthening barangay disaster preparedness and building resilient communities through capacity-building and resource support.

TURNOVER OF DOST SAFEWATRS DISINFECTION SYSTEM & RAINWATER COLLECTOR

As one of the highlight activities in the Municipality of San Jacinto's observance of National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) 2026, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) successfully conducted the turnover of one (1) unit DOST SAFEWATRS Disinfection System and one (1) unit Rainwater Collector System to San Jacinto National High School.

This initiative forms part of the Department of Science and Technology's Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (DOST-CEST) Program, which aims to improve the quality of life of communities by providing science, technology, and innovation-based interventions that promote resilience, sustainability, and inclusive development.

The DOST SAFEWATRS Disinfection System and Rainwater Collector will significantly enhance the school's capacity to provide safe and potable water during emergencies, disasters, and water supply interruptions, while promoting sustainable water resource management and preparedness within the school community.

This activity also reinforces the objectives of National Disaster Resilience Month 2026, highlighting the importance of collaboration among the Local Government Unit, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), and the Department of Education in building resilient schools and empowering communities to better withstand disasters and the impacts of climate change.

500 Narra Trees Planted Today, A Greener Tomorrow Begins Now!

As part of the 2026 National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) celebration, the Municipality of San Jacinto successfully conducted a Tree Planting Activity at the Watershed Area of Barangay Burgos, San Jacinto, Masbate, where 500 Narra tree seedlings were planted in support of environmental protection, watershed conservation, and climate change adaptation.

Strengthening Coordination. Enhancing Preparedness. Saving Lives.

As part of the 2026 National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) celebration with the theme “Naghahanda at Kumikilos Tungo sa Panatag na Bagong Pilipinas," the Municipality of San Jacinto successfully conducted the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) Tabletop Exercise (TTX) featuring a Super Typhoon Signal No. 5 scenario.

The exercise brought together members of the MDRRMC to evaluate plans, enhance inter-agency coordination, strengthen decision-making, and assess the Municipality's preparedness and response capabilities through a realistic, discussion-based disaster simulation.

Through collaborative planning and shared commitment, we continue to build a more resilient San Jacinto—ready to respond, recover, and protect our communities when disasters strike.

Together, we prepare today for a safer tomorrow.
