COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

On June 2, 2026, at 3:00 PM, personnel of the Miagao Municipal Police Station participated in the orientation and preparatory meeting for the Outstanding Barangay Tanod Awards for both the Individual and Group Categories. The activity was conducted to assess and enhance the readiness of the barangay tanods and officials of Brgy. Baybay Norte, Miagao, Iloilo, in preparation for the upcoming validation process.

The activity was spearheaded by Mr. Erwin S. Garque, Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO), together with Ms. Joy San Pedro, Local Government Operations Officer II (LGOO II). It was attended by barangay tanods, barangay officials, and other stakeholders who play a significant role in the implementation of peace and order and public safety initiatives within the community.

During the meeting, participants were oriented on the criteria, requirements, and procedures for the upcoming validation. Discussions focused on the accomplishments, best practices, and documentation necessary to support the barangay's nomination, as well as the vital role of barangay tanods in maintaining peace, order, and security at the grassroots level. Recommendations and areas for improvement were likewise identified to further strengthen the barangay's preparedness.

The activity served as an avenue to enhance coordination and collaboration among local government agencies, barangay officials, law enforcement personnel, and barangay tanods. It also underscored the commitment of the local government and its partners in recognizing outstanding performance, dedication, and exemplary service among barangay tanods while promoting excellence in community-based peacekeeping and public safety initiatives.

-Responsableng Ginikanan Academy-

On June 2, 2026, at 7:30 AM, PMSg Julie N Dimalaluan, PCAD PNCO of the Miagao Municipal Police Station, participated in the Responsableng Ginikanan Academy, a flagship program of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Miagao aimed at empowering parents with the knowledge, values, and skills necessary to effectively nurture, guide, and support their children.

The activity was held at Guibongan-Igtuba Integrated School, Brgy. Guibongan, Miagao, Iloilo, and was spearheaded by Mrs. Rowena F. Torrefiel, Principal I. The program was attended by at least 200 parents and guardians from the clustered barangays surrounding the school, providing them with an opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and engage in meaningful discussions on responsible parenting and child development.

As part of the program, PMSg Dimalaluan shared insights on the importance of active parental involvement in a child's upbringing and education. She emphasized the role of parents and guardians in safeguarding children from negative influences, promoting discipline and good values, monitoring their online activities, and maintaining open communication within the family. She also highlighted the importance of fostering a safe, supportive, and nurturing home environment that encourages children to become responsible, productive, and law-abiding members of society.

The program focused on enhancing parental awareness and competence in matters concerning family values, child welfare, and the vital role of parents in their children's educational, emotional, social, and moral development. Through informative lectures and interactive discussions, participants gained practical knowledge and strategies for strengthening family relationships and supporting their children's overall well-being.

The participation of the Miagao Municipal Police Station in this initiative reflects its commitment to community engagement and its continued support for programs that strengthen families, promote child protection, and contribute to the development of a responsible, resilient, and progressive community.

BRIGADA ESKWELA KICK-OFF CEREMONY

On June 1, 2026, at 7:30 AM, PMSg Julie N Dimalaluan, PCAD PNCO of the Miagao Municipal Police Station, participated in the Brigada Eskwela 2026 Kick-Off Ceremony held at Guibongan-Igtuba Integrated School, Brgy. Guibongan, Miagao, Iloilo.

During the activity, PMSg Dimalaluan shared security and safety tips in preparation for the opening of classes. She reminded parents, teachers, and students to remain vigilant at all times, observe road safety measures when traveling to and from school, and immediately report any suspicious persons or activities to the authorities. She also emphasized the importance of maintaining a drug-free, violence-free, and bully-free learning environment to ensure the safety and well-being of all learners.

The activity served as an avenue to strengthen collaboration among the school, parents, local government units, and law enforcement agencies in promoting a safe, secure, and conducive learning environment for students.

It also highlighted the commitment of the Miagao Municipal Police Station to support educational initiatives and ensure the safety and protection of learners, teachers, and school personnel throughout the academic year.

Through its active participation in Brigada Eskwela 2026, the Miagao Municipal Police Station reaffirmed its dedication to community partnership and its role in fostering a culture of safety, preparedness, and shared responsibility in the education sector.

FOOT PATROLLING | COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Personnel of the Miagao Municipal Police Station conducted foot patrol and community engagement activities in various areas of convergence within the municipality to enhance police visibility, deter criminal activities, and ensure the safety and security of the public.

During the patrol, police personnel interacted with residents, motorists, and business owners to listen to their concerns, provide crime prevention and public safety tips, and encourage active community participation in maintaining peace and order. The activity also strengthened the partnership between the police and the community, fostering trust, cooperation, and shared responsibility in creating a safer and more secure environment for all.
