𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐁𝐮𝐤𝐢𝐝𝐧𝐨𝐧 | 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟏𝟒, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 — Sigaw MindaNow continued its Bukidnon engagement at Central Mindanao University (CMU), bringing together university student leaders for an open exchange on community concerns, public issues, and the role of young Mindanaoans in shaping the future of their communities.

The fourth day of the engagement provided students with an avenue to share their perspectives and gain a deeper appreciation of how issues experienced by communities can be brought into the appropriate channels of government. The discussions also highlighted the importance of informed participation, environmental responsibility, integrity in public service, and sustainable development in addressing challenges that affect Mindanao.

As an initiative of the Office of the Presidential Adviser for Mindanao Concerns (OPAMC), Sigaw MindaNow provides a platform for Mindanaoans to speak about the issues they experience and the changes they wish to see in their communities. By taking the conversation directly to schools and communities, the initiative seeks to listen to concerns on the ground, gather meaningful inputs, and help connect these concerns with the appropriate government agencies and stakeholders.

Anchored on the theme, “𝑺𝒊𝒈𝒂𝒘 𝑴𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒂𝑵𝒐𝒘: 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒂 𝒔𝒂 𝑲𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒂𝒔𝒂𝒏, 𝑳𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒏 𝒔𝒂 𝑲𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒘𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒂𝒏, 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒂 𝒔𝒂 𝑴𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝑲𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒃𝒖𝒌𝒂𝒔𝒂𝒏,” the engagement underscores the need for collective action in protecting the environment, strengthening accountability and integrity, and advancing development that responds to the needs of Mindanao communities.

𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐁𝐮𝐤𝐢𝐝𝐧𝐨𝐧 | 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟏𝟑, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 — The Bukidnon leg of Sigaw MindaNow continued in Valencia City, engaging Senior High School student leaders in a dialogue centered on the issues, aspirations, and concerns that matter to their communities.

More than simply listening, the engagement created an opportunity for students to understand how concerns raised at the community level can be brought to the attention of government and relevant stakeholders. Through discussions and exchanges of ideas, the participants were encouraged to look at the challenges faced by their communities and consider how young people can contribute to addressing them.

Sigaw MindaNow, an initiative of the Office of the Presidential Adviser for Mindanao Concerns (OPAMC), provides a platform where Mindanaoans can speak about issues affecting their communities and share recommendations for possible government action. It seeks to strengthen the link between communities and government by listening to concerns on the ground and helping ensure that these are properly identified, documented, and elevated to the appropriate agencies and institutions.

Anchored on the theme, “𝑺𝒊𝒈𝒂𝒘 𝑴𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒂𝑵𝒐𝒘: 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒂 𝒔𝒂 𝑲𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒂𝒔𝒂𝒏, 𝑳𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒏 𝒔𝒂 𝑲𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒘𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒂𝒏, 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒂 𝒔𝒂 𝑴𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝑲𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒃𝒖𝒌𝒂𝒔𝒂𝒏,” the activity underscored the shared responsibility of protecting Mindanao’s natural resources, promoting transparency and integrity in public service, and pursuing development that creates better opportunities for future generations.

The engagement provided students with an opportunity to exchange perspectives, raise concerns, and deepen their understanding of the role of citizens—particularly the youth—in addressing challenges in their communities. Discussions centered on the importance of environmental protection, accountability in public service, and sustainable development as shared responsibilities toward a better future.

The activity gathered students from the 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐥 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐯𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐫, who actively participated in a series of panel discussions covering key government initiatives, environmental stewardship, sustainable economic development, agricultural advancement, and other concerns affecting communities.

Through the discussions, the students gained valuable insights on their role as future leaders and active partners in promoting responsible citizenship, good governance, and sustainable progress. The engagement provided an avenue for the youth to better understand the importance of their participation in addressing community concerns and contributing to the development of Mindanao.
