WANTED PERSON APPREHENDED FOR DRUG AND FIREARM CASES

Under the leadership of ATTY. PLTCOL MARIA THERESA T. MACATANGAY, Acting Chief of Police of Minglanilla Municipal Police Station, the station successfully carried out a sustained intelligence-driven law enforcement operation that led to the arrest of an Other Wanted Person on June 3, 2026, at BJMP Minglanilla, Brgy. Tulay, Minglanilla, Cebu.

Acting on its continuing mandate to serve and enforce outstanding warrants of arrest, personnel of Minglanilla Municipal Police Station proceeded to implement a court-issued warrant within the BJMP facility. The operation was conducted in a coordinated, orderly, and lawful manner, reflecting the station’s firm commitment to track and apprehend individuals with pending cases before the courts.

The arrested person, known by the alias “BENTOT,” was taken into custody by virtue of a warrant of arrest for violations of Section 5 of R.A. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and R.A. 10591, issued by the court of the Seventh Judicial Region, City of Naga, Cebu.

Upon arrest, the subject was properly informed of his constitutional rights in accordance with the Miranda Doctrine. All procedures were strictly observed to ensure that the operation was conducted in full compliance with legal standards, professionalism, and respect for human rights.

Following the successful service of the warrant, the arrested person is currently under the custody of BJMP Minglanilla awaiting proper turnover to the issuing court for appropriate legal disposition.

In her statement, ATTY. PLTCOL MACATANGAY emphasized the station’s continued dedication to the aggressive service of warrants, stressing that Minglanilla MPS remains steadfast in ensuring that wanted persons are brought before the courts of justice.

A Safer and More Vibrant Minglanilla: May 2026 Accomplishments

This May 2026, the Minglanilla Municipal Police Station, under the steadfast leadership of ATTY. PLTCOL MARIA THERESA T. MACATANGAY, Acting Chief, in strong partnership with Hon. Lheslen A Enad, Acting Mayor, further intensified its campaign to uphold peace, order, and public safety. Every operation conducted reflects a proactive, community-centered approach in ensuring a secure and thriving Minglanilla.

In the fight against illegal drugs, personnel carried out 8 successful operations, resulting in the seizure of 2.00 grams of shabu with an estimated value of ₱14,892.00, and the arrest of 9 individuals. These sustained efforts significantly contribute to safeguarding families and preventing the harmful effects of illegal substances within the community.

Simultaneously, intensified operations against loose fi****ms led to 2 operations conducted, with 2 fi****ms confiscated/surrendered, 2 individuals arrested, and 2 cases filed. These accomplishments highlight the station’s firm stance in removing potential threats and maintaining public safety.

In the campaign against wanted persons, 5 other wanted persons were successfully apprehended, reinforcing the rule of law and ensuring that offenders are held accountable for their actions.

The enforcement of local ordinances also remained a priority, with 85 violators apprehended and ₱42,000.00 in fines collected, promoting discipline, orderliness, and shared responsibility among residents in maintaining a peaceful community.

Moreover, 3 illegal gambling operations resulted in the arrest of 6 individuals, ₱275.00 confiscated, and 3 cases filed, demonstrating the station’s continuous vigilance against all forms of illegal activities, regardless of scale.

These accomplishments underscore the unwavering commitment of the Minglanilla Municipal Police Station to proactive law enforcement, strengthened community engagement, and responsive public service. Through these collective efforts, we continue to build a safer, more orderly, and more vibrant Minglanilla for all.
