PUBLIC AWARENESS: PROTECT YOUR PRIVACY, RESPECT DIGNITY!
Did you know that capturing photos or videos of an individual without their consent, even if they are your partner or spouse, is a serious criminal offense?
Under Republic Act No. 9995, also known as the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009, the following acts are strictly prohibited:
🚫 RECORDING: Taking photos or videos of a person performing sexual acts or in states of undress (private parts) without their explicit consent.
🚫 DISTRIBUTING: Copying, sharing through Messenger, uploading to social media (Facebook/X), or selling such materials.
🚫 PUBLISHING: Posting the material online or showing it to others, even if you were the original recipient.
WHAT ARE THE PENALTIES?
The law takes this seriously to protect every citizen's honor:
⚖️ Imprisonment: 3 years to 7 years.
⚖️ Fines: Php 100,000.00 to Php 500,000.00.
Consent is not optional it is a requirement. Do not let a moment of indiscretion or a desire for revenge ruin your future and someone else's dignity.
IF YOU ARE A VICTIM:
Do not delete the evidence: Save screenshots, links, or files as proof.
Report to Authorities: Visit the nearest police station or contact the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) or NBI Cybercrime Division.
Do not be afraid: The law is here to protect you.
