“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” – Benjamin Franklin

The Arts, Culture and Tourism Office (ACTO) conducted the First Aid and Basic Life Support training last March 27-29, 2023 at Peñafrancia Resort, Brgy. Carolina, Naga City. The participants were composed of City and Community Tour Guides, Tourist Police Unit and life guards and staff of different hotels and resorts.

The training was led by Mr. Jason G. Pante, RN, AEMT of NCH-EMS. The course aimed to enhance the participants’ skills in potentially saving a person's life with first aid care and basic life support skills such as high quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). There were thirty-three (33) trainees who were able to finish the training course.

𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 and Inauguration 𝐨𝐟 the 𝐁𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐥 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐦 (BSTC)

March 16 - 17, 2023

To engage in new experiences at BSTC, DOST V, DOST - PCIEERD and LGU - Naga City worked together on the project entitled "Revitalization and Improvement of the Existing Bicol Science and Technology Centrum (BSTC)."

The BSTC has 5 galleries with various new and improved exhibits and interactive displays. During the launch, a total of 17 explainers who are interns from 3 different schools (Mariner's Naga, PSU, and NCSAT), supervised by Mr. Jed Romero of ACTO, led the guiding of the VIP guests as well as educational tour groups.

Operation Klaro Eye Care Program was held last February 4-10, 2023 in Naga City with the mission to help restore our people's vision through free eye check-up and operation.

The City Government through the Arts, Culture and Tourism Office conducted a city tour for the Operation Klaro volunteer doctors, nurses and staff last February 11, 2023 as one way to express appreciation for their services to our kababayan and for them to see the wonder of our city and learn about the Nagueno culture.

The NHCP Museo ni Jesse Robredo was one of the sites they visited and they also got to try our popular local delicacy, Kinalas, at Mang-Koks Kinalasan.

To cap off the Bicycle Month celebration, Community Organizer Mr. Ramon Dominic Nobleza, in partnership with the City Offices, spearheaded the first-ever 𝙉𝙖𝙜𝙖 𝙉𝙖 𝙋𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚’𝙨 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙩 last 27 November 2022, Sunday, from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Following the festivities, a road closure along General Luna St covering both Plaza Rizal and Plaza Quezon was enforced. The event also featured activities that aim to support local farmers and entrepreneurs.

The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) National Capital Region (NCR) conducted their event entitled "Local Governance Knowledge Exchange: Stock Taking and Institutionalizing Partnerships on LGRRC and SLGP Best Practices" last November 22-25, 2022 in the provinces of Bicol.

Part of their program is a benchmarking visit to Naga City which also included a city tour on November 23, 2022 (Wednesday) from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM. The Arts, Culture and Tourism Office (ACTO) was tasked to lead the tour. Among the sites visited were the former DILG Secretary Jesse M. Robredo's memorials - the NHCP Museo ni Jesse Robredo and the JMR Tomb at Eternal Gardens as well as our famous churches, the Basilica Minore, Our Lady of Penafrancia Shrine, and the Metropolitan Cathedral and Porta Mariae.

Simula 2015, kaagapay na ng opisina ang Isarog Community Nature Guides (ICNG) sa pag-protekta at preserba ng Mt. Isarog Natural Park. Isa rin sa katungkulan nila bilang guide ang pag-alalay at pagpapakilala ng mga nakatagong natural na ganda sa ating ciudad. Patuloy ang ating suporta sa pamamagitan ng yearly trainings at seminar para sa dagdag kaalaman.

Heto ang kanilang mga pahayag kung gaano kalaki ang tulong na binibigay ng turismo sa ating komunidad.
