From being hailed as the Provincial Winner, to becoming the Regional Champion, and now the 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 for the Luzon Cluster — 𝗚𝗼𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗲 has officially made history at the 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁-𝗨𝗽 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 held last May 11–12, 2026 at Seda Hotel, Quezon City.

After receiving ₱250,000 as Regional Winner, Team DareForward proudly secured the ₱5,000,000 grant as the National Winner for Luzon — a testament to the team’s innovation, dedication, and passion for transforming Philippine tourism through technology and entrepreneurship.

Team GoDare is composed of Daniella Francisco from BSBA Human Resource Management, and Deniela Anacin, Jenalyn Madrid, Kween Karissh Casimero, Marlon Lanuza, and Jim Olivar from BS Hospitality Management — all proud students of the College of Business and Management.

This remarkable achievement would not have been possible without the guidance and support of their adviser, Sir Harving Ong, together with Technical Consultant Sir John Roy Galvez from CCS, Daniel Bonito of CCS who helped develop the prototype, Dr. Anna Romulo for the unwavering CCS support, Dr. Ryan Bastareche, Dean of CBM, and Dr. Renato Belaro, Academic Officer of CBM.

A momentous milestone in advancing sustainable energy innovation in the Bicol Region! ⚡🌱

Three leading academic institutions have come together to take on the challenge of shaping the future of Smart Grid Development and Sustainable Energy.

Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA), Bicol State College of Applied Sciences and Technology (BISCAST), and Naga College Foundation (NCF) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the implementation of Project VPP-DER — Development of a Virtual Power Plant for Distributed Energy Resource Integration, Smart Grid Control, and Energy Optimization in Higher Education Institutions

This groundbreaking collaboration aims to revolutionize how educational institutions manage and optimize their energy resources through cutting-edge technologies such as:

🔋 Distributed Energy Resource (DER) Integration – maximizing the use of renewable and decentralized energy sources such as solar, battery storage, and other clean technologies.

⚙️ Smart Grid Control Systems – enabling intelligent monitoring, automation, and balancing of power supply and demand.

🏫 Energy Optimization in Higher Education Institutions – creating more efficient, resilient, and sustainable campuses while reducing operational costs and carbon emissions.

As the lead institution, CBSUA will spearhead the project implementation, while the NCF Center for Research, Learning and Development will proudly represent NCF in contributing research, innovation, and strategic development support for this transformative initiative.
