Vice Mayor Margarito A. Tejada attended the Waste Analysis and Characterization Study (WACS) Integrating Utilization of Waste-to-Energy Utilization and Community Disaster Risk Reduction Seminar held on May 21–22, 2026 at Hotel Supreme, Baguio City.

Also present during the seminar were SBM Benjamin "Popong" Dela Cuadra Jr., Chairperson of the Committee on Solid Waste Management; SBM Mark Jun Tejada, Chairperson of the Committee on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management; SBM Michael Velasco; and Municipal Solid Waste Management Officer Rogelio Asistin, together with Punong Barangays, barangay officials, and Sangguniang Bayan staff.

The seminar provided valuable insights on proper waste segregation, waste collection systems, waste-to-energy initiatives, and community-based disaster risk reduction strategies. It also emphasized national policies and government mandates that serve as guideposts for stronger and more responsive local implementation.

The participation of the Municipality of Narvacan in this seminar comes at a crucial time as proposed municipal ordinances on solid waste management and related environmental measures are currently being finalized. The knowledge and best practices gained from the activity are expected to help strengthen local policies, improve waste management systems, promote environmental sustainability, and enhance disaster resilience within the community.

Through proactive legislation and collaborative community action, the Municipality of Narvacan continues to work toward a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable future for every Narvacanean.

The Sangguniang Bayan of Narvacan convened for its 36th Regular Session, presided over by Vice Mayor Margarito A. Tejada, CE.

Among the key measures passed during the session were the following:
1. Resolution encouraging and reminding all barangays in the Municipality of Narvacan to observe a simple and minimal celebration of barangay fiestas in light of the current oil crisis and in support of energy conservation efforts pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 114;

2. Ordinance establishing guidelines for the issuance of Mayor’s Permits or Business Permits for legally authorized gambling activities within the Municipality of Narvacan

3. An ordinance institutionalizing the Narvacan Efficient Community Support Fuel Subsidy Program for Farmers and Fisherfolk

4. An ordinance establishing the Transport Relief Initiative for Kabuhayan and Emergency Fuel Assistance Program for qualified members of the Narvacan Tricycle Operators and Drivers Associations (NARTODA)

5. An ordinance prohibiting personal branding of elected local officials on government projects, programs, properties, and government-issued documents.

These measures reflect the Sangguniang Bayan’s continued commitment to responsive governance, prioritizing economic relief, regulatory clarity, and accountability in public service for the benefit of all Narvacaneans.

Vice Mayor Engr. Margarito A. Tejada, together with SBM Mark Jun A. Tejada, SB Secretary Maribel Corrales, and staff, paid a courtesy visit to City Mayor Eric D. Singson following a short benchmarking activity at the Candon Agri-Center.

The activity aimed to observe the operations of the agri-center and identify best practices that may be adopted by the Municipality, in support of the proposed ordinance establishing a Bagsakan Center in Narvacan.
