Biliran PPO Joins Stakeholder Forum, Strengthening Support for Oplan Balik Eskwela 2026

CAMP DADIZON, NAVAL, BILIRAN – Demonstrating its steadfast commitment to community-oriented policing and the promotion of a safe and conducive learning environment, the Biliran Police Provincial Office, under the leadership of PCOL ALEX F DELOS SANTOS, Officer-in-Charge, participated in the Stakeholder Forum and Oplan Balik Eskwela Convergence for the Opening of Classes, School Year 2026–2027, held on June 3, 2026, at the Provincial Civic Center, Capitol Compound, Brgy. Calumpang, Naval, Biliran.

Representing the Provincial Office during the activity was PLTCOL TEODORA P SALARZA, Officer-in-Charge, Deputy Provincial Director for Administration.

Spearheaded by the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division of Biliran, graced by Hon. Rogelio J Espina, Governor, Biliran Province, the convergence brought together key stakeholders from various government agencies, local government units, and partner organizations to strengthen coordination and support mechanisms for the opening of classes.

Among the highlights of the event were the presentation of the objectives and strategic direction of this year’s Oplan Balik Eskwela, messages of commitment from participating stakeholders, and the ceremonial signing of the Pledge of Commitment, signifying a unified and collective effort to ensure a smooth, safe, and successful start of the academic year.

The Biliran Police Provincial Office reaffirmed its full support for the initiative and its readiness to deploy personnel, intensify police visibility, and strengthen coordination with DepEd, local government units, and other partner agencies. These efforts are geared toward maintaining peace and order, ensuring public safety, and providing a secure environment for students, teachers, and school personnel throughout the province.

BPPO remains committed to working hand in hand with stakeholders in fostering a safe, orderly, and learner-friendly atmosphere as Biliranon students embark on another school year.

PNP ISKOLAR, MATAGUMPAY NA NAGTAPOS SA DARAGA, ALBAY

Naghatid ng inspirasyon ang programang Project F.I.V.E. (Fight Insurgency Via Education) ng Regional Mobile Force Battalion 5 (RMFB 5) matapos opisyal na makapagtapos sa kolehiyo ang isa nitong iskolar noong Mayo 29, 2026 sa Daraga Community College.

Ang naturang iskolar ay nagtapos ng kursong Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd), sa kabila ng mga hamon sa buhay at pinansyal na dinanas habang nag-aaral. Sa pamamagitan ng tiyaga, disiplina, at determinasyon, nakamit niya ang pangarap na makapagtapos ng kolehiyo.

Ayon sa RMFB 5, ang tagumpay ng iskolar ay malinaw na patunay na ang edukasyon ay epektibong sandata laban sa kahirapan at iba’t ibang banta sa kapayapaan, kabilang ang insurhensiya. Layunin ng Project F.I.V.E. na bigyan ng libreng edukasyon at suporta ang mga kabataan mula sa mga komunidad na nangangailangan upang sila ay mahubog bilang produktibong mamamayan.

Pahayag ni PNP Chief PGen Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., “Ang bawat batang natutulungan nating makapagtapos ay isang hakbang palayo sa karahasan at isang hakbang patungo sa mas maayos na kinabukasan. Ito ang tunay na diwa ng serbisyo ng PNP—ang magbigay ng pag-asa.”

Dagdag pa niya, “Hindi lamang ito simpleng programa; ito ay pamumuhunan sa kinabukasan ng ating bayan. Sa bawat iskolar na nagtatagumpay, mas pinatitibay natin ang kapayapaan sa komunidad.”

Ang RMFB 5 ay patuloy na isinusulong ang Project F.I.V.E. bilang bahagi ng mas malawak na adbokasiya para sa kapayapaan at kaunlaran, na nagbibigay ng alternatibong landas sa kabataan tungo sa edukasyon at mas produktibong buhay.

Ang tagumpay na ito ay patunay ng tuloy-tuloy na malasakit at serbisyo ng kapulisan sa komunidad sa ilalim ng Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.

Joint Operatives Nab Wanted Person for Violation of P.D. 1602 (Illegal Gambling)

CULABA, BILIRAN - The Culaba Municipal Police Station, headed by PCPT HILARIO P RAMBANO III, Chief of Police, together with BPPO-PIU conducted an intelligence-driven operation that resulted in the successful apprehension of a wanted person in Culaba, Biliran, on Wednesday morning, June 3, 2026.

“We will continue to intensify our efforts in tracking down wanted persons and ensuring that justice is served. The Culaba MPS remains dedicated to maintaining peace and order by bringing offenders before the law,” PCPT RAMBANO III said.

The operatives arrested one male residing in this municipality by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest for Violation of Section 1 (a) (1) PD 1602, with Criminal Case No. 1495-2026 dated April 29, 2026 and issued by the 8th Judicial Region, Municipal Circuit Trial Court, Caibiran-Culaba, Biliran. Recommended bail for the suspect's temporary liberty is set at ₱36,000.00. Said accused is now in the custody of Culaba MPS for documentation prior turned-over to the court of origin.

The Chief of Police lauded the operating personnel for their dedication and professionalism in the successful conduct of the operation. He also encouraged community members to remain vigilant and actively support law enforcement efforts by immediately reporting any information regarding wanted persons or suspicious activities to the Culaba MPS, emphasizing that public cooperation is vital in maintaining peace and order in the municipality.

PRO 8 ACCOMPLISHMENT ON WANTED PERSONS

The Police Regional Office 8 (PRO-8), under the leadership of PBGEN JASON L CAPOY, Regional Director, successfully carried out its mandate on keeping the Eastern Visayas community safe through its manhunt on wanted persons from May 26 - June 1, 2026.

91 operations were conducted, resulting in the arrest of 12 most wanted persons and 80 other wanted persons, for a total of 92 arrested wanted individuals.

PRO 8 will continue to strengthen its law enforcement operations to uphold public safety and security.
