Municipality of Datu Odin Sinsuat formally known as Municipality of Dinaig was renamed in grateful recognition to the good leadership of the late Hon. The honorable members of the Regional Legislative Assembly (RLA) in pursuant to Muslim Mindanao Autonomy Act No. 29 dated October 3, 1994, unanimously sponsored the bill on December 15, 1994. Currently, the municipality is composed of two (2) distri

cts, the North District and South District. Each district has seventeen (17) barangays, thus a total of thirty-four (34) barangays with a total land area of 461.80 square kilometers or 178.30 square miles which constitutes 4.63% of Maguindanao's total area. Datu Odin Sinsuat Municipality is home to the Awang Airport which welcomes guests of the municipality and of the neighboring towns. The famous Inaul Weaving Center of the Al-Jamelah Organization and the Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto both situated in Barangay Tamontaka, The Blue Lagoon in Barangay Tanuel, Mt. Minandar and beach resorts in Barangay Kusiong and more beach resorts in the Coastal areas such as Barangays Linek, Badak, Kusiong and Tapian. .
