September 2, 2026 6:00 PM

Based on the DENR-EMB Advisory initially issued on August 31, 2026 at 9:00 PM, the observed haze is possibly associated with smoke and transboundary haze from ongoing fires in Kalimantan, Indonesia which may have been transported toward the Philippines by prevailing winds.

In view of the threats associated with this, the PDRRMC-APSEMO hereby issues the following preparedness and response measures for public safety:

1. Continuously monitor local visibility and air quality parameters.

2. Ensure Rural Health Units (RHUS) are prepared to respond to sudden increases in respiratory-related consultations.

3. Identify map and monitor vulnerable individuals including children, elderly and persons with asthma or cardiovascular conditions.

4. Limit outdoor activities, particularly running, sports, or strenuous physical labor. 5 Keep windows and doors closed. Use damp cloths to seal gaps and drafts under doors.

6. Wear a well-fitting N95 mask when going outdoors in areas with visible haze. 7. Seek immediate medical attention at the nearest clinic or health facility if having trouble in breathing, severe coughing, or eye irritation.

8. All are advised to remain alert and standby for official updates and further advisories from local authorities.

9. All C/MDRRMOS are advised to stay vigilant, monitor the situation, coordinate with concerned agencies, disseminate timely advisories, and implement appropriate preparedness and response measures to protect the public.

So ordered.

0934 547 1699
0934 547 1728

Stay safe, Coastal Oas!
