I am deeply honored by the trust of Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez and the House leadership in appointing me as Chairperson of the House Committee on Higher and Technical Education.
This is a responsibility I embrace with both humility and a deep sense of duty. Education has long been a cornerstone of national developmentโand today, more than ever, we are called to make it more inclusive, more responsive, and more attuned to the challenges of a changing world.
As a representative of TINGOG Party-list, I carry with me the hopes and aspirations of students from underserved communitiesโthose who study by candlelight, walk for miles to reach their schools, or take on work just to stay in school. This is who we serve. This is why we serve.
My experience as a Commissioner of the Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM 2) has further deepened my commitment to meaningful reform. I have seen firsthand the need for bolder, data-driven, and forward-looking strategies to address the gaps in our educational system. As chair of this committee, I bring with me the lessons and insights weโve gained from listening to educators, learners, and stakeholders on the ground.
TINGOG has always believed in bringing government closer to the people. In this committee, we will continue to push for policies that expand access, improve quality, and ensure relevanceโso that every Filipino learner, regardless of background, is equipped not only to succeed, but to serve.
I look forward to working closely with CHED, TESDA, our academic institutions, civil society, and all our partners in education. Together, let us build a system that truly empowersโand one that leaves no Filipino behind.
Tunay na nakikinig. Taos-pusong nagsisilbi.
