The National Meat Inspection Service Regional Technical Operations Center III (NMIS RTOC III), in collaboration with the Local Government Unit of General Mamerto Natividad, Nueva Ecija successfully conducted a two-day Enforcement Training and Workshop for LGUs on May 20-21, 2026.
The activity was spearheaded by NMIS RTOC III represented by Dr. Ma. Theresa Magdaraog (Next-in-Rank, SMCO), Dr. Princess Ann Tayag (MSDCPS Head), and Ms. Cresencia Ignacio, (Provincial Coordinator for Nueva Ecija) together with esteemed speakers and instructors from the NMIS Central Office Enforcement Unit headed by Dr. Jude N. Padasas, with team members Dr. Chrysler James I. Ibasco and Mr. Alvin Paolo E. Abaรฑo.
The training highlighted the vital roles of NMIS and LGUs in ensuring the safety, wholesomeness, and quality of meat products through proper inspection, monitoring, surveillance, and strict enforcement of meat safety regulations. Discussions covered meat inspection laws and legislations, post-meat establishment control, as well as enforcement protocols and procedures.
As part of the activity, enforcement and monitoring operations were also conducted at the General Mamerto Natividad Public Market, supermarkets, and meat shops to ensure compliance with meat safety standards.
Through the efforts and dedication of the General Mamerto Natividad LGU, led by Hon. Larry S. Ponce, Municipal Mayor, and Mr. Fernando M. Del Parto Jr., Municipal Agriculturist, the activity further strengthened the LGUโs commitment to providing safe and quality meat products within the municipality.
This initiative reinforces the shared commitment of NMIS and LGUs in safeguarding public health and promoting food safety for all consumers.
