DepEd Panabo City marked a meaningful milestone in leadership development as sixteen (16) school heads formally took their oath as newly promoted school principals through the reclassification of items under DepEd Order No. 024, series of 2025, also known as the Expanded Career Progression System for Teachers and School Heads. The event underscored the Division’s steadfast commitment to recognizing merit, competence, and sustained excellence in school leadership.

The oath-taking was presided over by Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) Jinky B. Firman during the 17th Division Management Committee (ManCom) Meeting held at the Grand Palm Villas & Hotel in Tagum City, Davao del Norte that provided a fitting platform to honor the professional growth and dedication of school leaders who have consistently demonstrated readiness to take on higher responsibilities.

The promotions were the result of a rigorous and transparent evaluation process conducted by the Human Resource Merit Promotion and Selection Board (HRMPSB) of DepEd Panabo City, headed by Assistant SDS Basilio P. Mana-ay Jr., in close coordination with DepEd Regional Office XI that ensured full compliance with established policies and standards, reinforcing the integrity of the promotion process.

Witnessed by the members of the ManCom—comprising the Division’s top management, section heads of functional divisions, and school leaders—the ceremony went beyond the formal conferment of new ranks. It served as a renewed call to leadership, affirming the shared responsibility of principals to lead schools toward quality, inclusive, and responsive basic education in Panabo City.

Panabo City proudly held a send-off program for more than 40 Senior Scouts set to represent the city in the 𝟑𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚-𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐞 at the Kainomayan Scout Camp in Botolan, Zambales, from December 14 to 21, 2025.

The activity was spearheaded by the Local Government of Panabo City through the Office of Mayor Jose E. Relampagos, represented by Executive Secretary Jo-anne Relampagos-Capuyan, who extended the city’s full support and well wishes to the delegation.

Key representatives from the Department of Education also graced the event, including Curriculum Chief Education Supervisor and Wood Badge Holder Janwario E. Yamota and Division BSP Coordinator Reynaldo C. Deocampo Jr., who both emphasized the significance of scouting in building leadership, resilience, and camaraderie among the youth.

Scout advisors accompanying the contingent were likewise recognized for their guidance and commitment to ensuring a meaningful and safe Jamboree experience for all participants.

The Panabo City delegation is set to join thousands of scouts across the Asia-Pacific region in a weeklong gathering celebrating global friendship, skills development, and the enduring values of the scouting movement.

Secondary Mathematics Coordinators in Panabo City gathered for their Year-End Planning Conference at the Library Hub of Panabo Central Elementary School SPED Center, highlighting collaborative discussions and hands-on simulations under 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒋𝒆𝒄𝒕 𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑹 (𝑨 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑰𝒏𝒒𝒖𝒊𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒐𝒍𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔).

During the conference, participants engaged in structured dialogues, problem-solving workshops, and simulation activities that modeled real classroom scenarios.

These sessions enabled coordinators to refine intervention strategies, enhance monitoring mechanisms, and align their plans with the goals of the mathematics curriculum.

The activity concluded with a unified commitment to sustain Project APIR as a venue for continuous professional collaboration, ensuring improved learner outcomes in mathematics across secondary schools in Panabo City.

Initiated by Education Program Supervisor Carolyn M. Arado, Project APIR aims to strengthen instructional support systems by providing a platform where coordinators can openly raise concerns, share best practices, and formulate practical solutions to challenges in mathematics teaching and learning.

Antonio O. Floirendo Elementary School II marked a significant milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony for its forthcoming one-story, two-classroom building, made possible through the generosity of 𝑻𝒂𝒈𝒖𝒎 𝑪𝒐𝒐𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆’𝒔 𝑩𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅-𝑨-𝑪𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒓𝒐𝒐𝒎 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒋𝒆𝒄𝒕 in partnership with DepEd Panabo City Division, which is expected to be completed within five to six months in 2026.

The ceremonial groundbreaking and signing of the Memorandum of Agreement were led by Sherwin Michael Crame, Tagum Cooperative Chief Administrative Officer; Janwario E. Yamota, Chief Education Supervisor of the Curriculum Implementation Division, representing Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) Jinky B. Firman; Board Chairperson Jose Alvic P. Suaybaguio; Vice Chairperson Monica L. Salido; and School Principal Dante G. Millanes.

SDS Firman expressed heartfelt appreciation to Tagum Cooperative for its continued support, emphasizing that the project will greatly benefit current and future learners of the school.

Also present to witness the ceremony were TC Panabo Branch Manager Francisco D. Villamor, Secretary Evelyn G. Bungabong of the Land Building Committee, Social Mobilization Focal Erna O. Lumandong, site engineers, student leaders, teachers, and various community stakeholders—collectively affirming the shared commitment to improving learning spaces and promoting quality education.

Mabunao Elementary School in Panabo City welcomed a significant milestone with the blessing and turnover ceremony of its newly completed one-story, two-classroom school building funded through the Department of Education’s Last Mile School Program.

The Php 7-million facility features a common toilet, rainwater collector, solar PV energy system, and a dedicated water system—providing a safer, greener, and more conducive learning space for young learners.

The ceremony began with the blessing officiated by Pastor Kerk Arbie Suan, followed by the formal turnover led by Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Basilio P. Mana-ay Jr., and was officially accepted by School Principal Roberto C. Candelasa, expressing gratitude for the strengthened support to the school’s growing learning community.

The new classrooms will soon be home to the school’s kindergarten and Grade 1 learners, offering an enhanced environment that supports foundational learning and early childhood development. The school community rejoiced as the project marked a major step in improving access to quality education in Mabunao.

Also present during the event were District Supervisor Julius I. Suelto; Social Mobilization Focal Erna O. Lumandong; Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) President Noralyn Gulayan; Rome Manquias and Hazel Darang, representatives from Seis Mundo Construction; teachers, and community stakeholders—whose collective support underscored the shared commitment to uplifting local education.

The Department of Education Davao Region acknowledges the viral video circulating online featuring the remarks of Schools Division Superintendent Josephine L. Fadul during the opening program of the Davao Oriental Provincial Athletic Meet.

The overall message of Superintendent Fadul’s speech centered on recognizing the dedication of our athletes and encouraging them to strive for excellence in both academics and sports. We recognize, however, that one line—intended as an affectionate banter—has drawn mixed reactions from the public. We reiterate that our leaders are expected to consistently exercise sensitivity and appropriate language in all official engagements.

Effective communication is essential to building and sustaining public trust, credibility, and positive engagement. In this regard, DepEd Davao Region’s leadership will take this opportunity to reflect on its responsibilities and reinforce its commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
