Dear Lord,

This week, I filed my Certificate of Candidacy for re-election as Congressman of the 2nd District of Parañaque City. Maraming salamat po sa pagkakataon na maglingkod sa ating bayan at maialay muli ang aking sarili bilang lingkod bayan. Thank you for my family who have been my support and help in serving the people.

Noong ako po ay 23 years old, pagkatapos ang barilan sa Baclaran, linigtas Niyo po ako sa bingit ng kamatayan - you gave me a second life. Ang inyong pagbibigay sa akin ng second life ay tinanggap ko bilang tawag na maglingkod po sa Inyo at sa aking kapwa tao. Iniaalay ko po sa Inyo, Panginoon, ang aking paglilingkod, noon, ngayon, at bukas, hindi man ito perpekto, ngunit ito ay ang aking munting alay para sa Inyo at sa taong bayan, ang aking pagtupad sa aking pangakong maglingkod noong binigyan po ninyo akong second life: Laging Naglilingkod Sa Parañaque.

We pray for honest, fair, and peaceful elections. Keep all of us in Team Bagong Parañaque and all candidates healthy and safe. Keep my family safe. Nawa and iyong kalooban, Panginoon, ang manaig są bawat hakbang ng aming paglalakbay.

I start this season by remembering a verse from Psalm 91, a prayer my Mom Terry would pray with me everyday in the early morning before I would go out to campaign in 1988: “I will save those who love me and protect those who acknowledge me as Lord . When they call to me, I will answer them. When they are in trouble, I will be with them. I will rescue them and honor them and I will reward them with long life. I will save them." (Psalm 91:14-16)

To God be all the glory and honor, now and forever.
