“Agriculture Committee Preparing Eggplant and Bell Pepper Seedlings “

Our Purok 2 Agriculture Committee has started preparing eggplant and bell pepper seedlings for the upcoming planting season. This initiative is part of our effort to strengthen our backyard gardening program and promote sustainable food sources within the community.

We encourage every household to begin preparing their planting areas-clean your garden space, loosen the soil, and get ready for transplanting. With small steps from each family, we can grow fresh and healthy vegetables right in our own backyards.

The Agriculture Committee plays an important role in guiding and supporting our community gardening efforts. Through seedling preparation, sharing of knowledge, and coordination of activities, the committee helps ensure that our purok continues to build a sustainable and productive garden program for everyone.

Rainy Monday Support for Our Backyard Gardeners 🌧️

Even with the rain today, we continued supporting our backyard gardening program by distributing Urea Fertilizer (46-0-0) to our Purok 2 residents. This fertilizer will help our community grow healthier and more productive vegetables, especially pechay and other leafy greens.

Why Urea (46-0-0) is Important for Plants
Urea is rich in nitrogen, a key nutrient that helps plants grow faster, develop greener leaves, and produce strong, healthy foliage. Since pechay is a leafy vegetable, nitrogen is especially important for its growth.

Simple Tip: Applying Urea to Pechay through Drenching
1. Dissolve 1 teaspoon of urea in 1 liter of water.
2. Mix well until fully dissolved.
3. Pour the solution directly to the soil around the base of the plant (not on the leaves).
4. Apply once every 7–10 days for best results.

*Reminder: Apply in small amounts and preferably during the morning or late afternoon to avoid plant burn.

Through small steps like this, we continue to strengthen food sustainability and backyard gardening in Purok 2.

PUROK 2 MONTHLY MEETING UPDATE
Sunday | March 1, 2026
Barangay Poblacion, Lila, Bohol

Purok 2 successfully conducted our monthly meeting last Sunday, March 1, 2026. Thank you to everyone who attended and actively participated!

During the meeting, we discussed the upcoming Purokalusugan Program of the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of our LGU. This program aims to “bring health services closer to the community,” ensuring that families in our purok can access essential health services more conveniently.

We also approved the creation of the Purok Agriculture Committee, which will strengthen our Backyard Gardening Program . This initiative aims to encourage more families to grow their own vegetables, promote food sustainability, and help households save money on daily vegetable expenses.

After the meeting, the group came together for a meaningful clean-up drive at Tinugdan River. We removed plastic waste and helped restore the cleanliness of this important community water source. Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and effort!

To end the day on a warm note, hot binignit and coco bread were served — a simple but heartwarming way to celebrate our teamwork and unity.

Together, we continue to build a healthier, cleaner, and more sustainable Purok 2!
