The Municipality of Cateel is proud to announce a landmark achievement in local governance. For the first time in our history, the Commission on Audit (COA) has officially rendered an UNQUALIFIED OPINION on the fairness of our financial statements!

This is the highest audit rating that can be given by the COA, serving as a powerful testament to our administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and the prudent management of public funds.

🔍 What is an "Unqualified Opinion"?
In the world of auditing, an Unqualified Opinion (also known as a "Clean Opinion") is the gold standard. It means that the government's financial records are presented fairly, in all material respects, and are in accordance with international accounting standards.

Essentially, it is an official "clean bill of health" for our municipality's finances. It signifies that there are no major discrepancies, errors, or omissions in how the people's money is recorded and spent.

Hon. Emilou "Miloy" Nuñez shared that this recognition means our finances are clean, compliant, and beyond question.

This achievement is not just for the Local Government Unit; it is a victory for the entire municipality. It ensures that our resources are being used effectively to fund the programs, infrastructure, and services that you deserve.

The Local Government Units of Cateel and Baganga stand united in a joint campaign to ensure the safety and security of all tourists visiting their beach destinations.

Grounded in a shared commitment to protect lives and promote responsible tourism, this initiative strengthens coordination between both LGUs equipping resorts with essential safety measures and empowering barangay rescue personnel to respond effectively to any emergency.

With the support of the Philippine Coast Guard and the Department of Tourism – Davao Region, along with the leadership of Hon. Emilou "Miloy" Nuñez and Hon. Laureano B. Taya, this unified effort culminated in a meaningful and successful 10-days lifesaving training for coastal responders.

Together, we build safer shores where every visitor can enjoy with confidence, and every community stands ready to protect.
