OFFICIAL STATEMENT

The Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) of General Luna is aware of the information currently circulating on social media regarding alleged minor/s seen around the Malinao Skate Road area.

Based on the initial information received, the minor involved is a resident of Del Carmen. In this regard, our office is currently coordinating with the MSWD Office of Municipality of Del Carmen to ensure that the proper procedures and child protection measures are followed, such as proper documentation and case management. Our priority is to safeguard the welfare, dignity, and well-being of the child involved.

Moreover, The LGU is on the process of promulgating policies to be implemented in the area as discussed during the dialogue to prevent such eventualities including public indecency as reportedly observed in the area.

As this matter involves minors, we humbly request the public to refrain from making negative comments, judgments, and spreading unverified information. Let us extend understanding and compassion while allowing the proper authorities to address the situation through the appropriate channels.

We sincerely thank the community for their cooperation and for helping us maintain a safe and supportive environment for all children.

In light of the overwhelming support and the continuous influx of participants for the 2026 Womenโ€™s Month Fun Run, we are pleased to announce that the venue has been transferred from the Municipal Compound to Paseo de Cabuntog, Boulevard, General Luna, Surigao del Norte. This adjustment is made to better accommodate the growing number of runners as we celebrate Womenโ€™s Month with enthusiasm, unity, and pride under the theme โ€œLead Like Babaylans, Filipinas!โ€ ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

We would also like to remind all registered participants to claim their Race Bibs ahead of the event to ensure a smooth and organized fun run. Distribution will be held on March 19, 2026 (Thursday) @8:30 AM to 4:00 PM at the Family Life and Livelihood Training Center Building, MSWD Office, Poblacion 1, General Luna.

๐Ÿ”” Gentle Reminders for All Participants:

1. Please come in your own running attire.
2. If you have purple shirts, that would be even better as it symbolizes solidarity and support for Womenโ€™s Month.
3. Bring extra t-shirt/s or a change of clothes, as we are expecting the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) to shower participants with water to keep everyone cool and energized.
